Seneca lake north end

Good they are dredging it out before the derby that silt was piling up pretty good in there.....hope they get out from the end of the dock aways this time....

They can't be going far, transporting that stuff is expensive.  Less than a few miles I would guess and probably less than one.  Here in Ithaca the south end canals have badly needed dredging for some time but it keeps getting put off.  They don't have anywhere close enough to dump the spoils and the available spots were prohibitively expensive.  Last I heard they may finally be getting around to it?  

 

It gets dumped and dries for a few years before being used as fill, due to contamination concerns they don't do much else with it.
