Salvation Army Derby?

We had a great weekend caught over 40 fish Saturday with a rare for me grand slam on Cayuga. Dropped two fish that would have been in contention, one was well over ten maybe even 15 but the story goes ..."the ones that got away!!! " Saturday was also a break everything day, boat seat, pole, fish finder, bilge pump.... not as bad a day as live bait fishermen that drove boat off with winning Brown on stringer(saw pic, huge!)... gone!

ouch!

Sunday took out a buddy's 12yr old son, what a blast, boated a pile of Lakers but the silver's weren't biting for us. Overall a great day with over 25 Lakers boated.

Hot lures for the weekend were sd Seneca special white fly, FLT custom paddle with green ITO fly, flutter spoons on cheater alpha Alewife green parked on thermocline 45' all took fish. Big difference for us was speed, lots of it! 2.8-3.2 lots of Lakers and lots of silver's!

Had a slow but steady pick of 5-6 lb lakers both days, dropped a dandy on sat. During the " drop every fish " time , 7 in a row didn't matter who was on the rod!! Sun. We dropped a big silver after a 25-35 min battle, mostly my fault trying to keep the boat out of the skinny water, sharp turn in a cross wind. We did manage to get the 3 fish for the "333" derby. Best bite was on the "deep" rigger parked at 48ft. (5 ft below the f/f ) . Over all had a great weekend with fishbowl, thanks Wayne

Up North no derby fish but awarded enough for the smoker. :)  All healthy and only a few old lamprey scars,  one was an emancipated guy that had a very glossy yellow filets? Sat 15 for 17, about every 3rd fish went to the cooler. Started using cow bells parked on the bottom in 60ft near the silos and it was a fish every 5 minutes. Sunday was ugly out there and only a few guys ventured out (except for the bass boats, think it was a completion to see who could get the most air off the waves!) Went 6 for 8 using spoons and most came from the silo area again hugging the bottom. Ton's of bait around.

Only fished on Sunday morning, but the day started off with a nice laker on a 300 copper. No matter how many times we weighed it, we couldn't get it to weigh more than 7.5lbs.  That was as close as we came, but we did catch 10 lakers and 3 short salmon before we got tired of the wind and rain at 11:30. We had a case of the drops for a little while there, but we can't make any claims about losing a money fish. No lamprey at all and at least 6 of the lakers were over 5lbs. A solid day overall. Congrats to all the winners!
