Launched out of Deans cove fishing a Finger Lakes Trolling Association Club Tourney headed out and lightning was coming down heavily north and south of us so decided to head back to dock til it passed.. Waited about 15 mins and looked like it was east of us and ran quite a ways south til about AES and turned around on a north troll and set up shop... We ran riggers cores coppers rigs and a dipsy ... It was a steady pick of 3 to 4 lb lakers and 14 inch salmon all morning til the rig rod took a huge smash and drag pulling run and slowly brought it up to find a nice 8 lb Laker that hit a green chrome spinny pull a Seneca ghost fly .. Get that in the box and look over and my 400 copper is going backwards and its not even due to weeds so know its a decent fish get to the boat and a nice little bow on a Iron Duke Finger Lakes Tackle spoon to the box she goes..... We ended the day going 26 for 26 and headed to the scale with a 4 out of 5 fish box and knew it was decent but really wanted that last salmon or brown for the box but thats the way it goes with time running out.... We head to the scales and end up forth in our tourney and retaining the points lead so can't be unhappy with that... Finger Lakes Tackle and Big Weenie Flys did all the damage today.... Another good tournament for all our members ... til the next one in September

The fleas  were the worst I have ever seen. They stuck to every thing. Lines (even 40 lb test rig main lines), hooks, downrigger cables, and even my blood run and flea flicker lines. Truly a miserable day to be on the water.

Nice job Mike! Your off to a good year, and putting up a good run for club champion. Good luck, and see you on Owasco in Sept.

Jason
