jigging otisco

I know trolling is a better option on otisco, however I never caught the trolling bug, 

 

so Otisco jigging it is for me ,  this last weekend proved to be a good one, landed one nice walleye, and dropped another at the boat

 

all fish caught on 4" silver and black paddle tails

 

 

 

 

and when the walleye bite is slow, the bass will keep you busy

Those are awesome. How deep? And did you look for them on the ff first? No live bait?

I don't run live bait on the paddle tails, it messes up the action, I do run worms and minnows on fluke bodies, they go together like peanut butter and jelly

 

these fish came off a ledge at 20', normally I watch the FF like a hawk, however when the whole family is there my wife steals the bow, trolling motor and control of the boat, I'm in the back untangling lines LOL

Really dont need to see them on ff...there isnt much structure but if you are on it they can certainly be jigged. The ones i jigged this year were on half ounce swimbait heads with 5 inch gulp. If ypu like fishing that way go back at night and do the exact same thing.....only 10 times better fishing

The structure most guys jig are the west side points and drops.  Side scan really helps identify these spots, and there is always fish on these spots.  I dont jig much, but not because it doesnt work.  Im just more into the top water action in the shallows for night fishing and I troll in daylight.

Justin, the topwater bite is a rush for sure, those drops and points on the west side are incredible

 

one of my favorite things to do, is sit outside the dropoff, pitch my jigs in shallow, and work the jig, over the dropoff

 

i'll definatly be out there this weekend,

I spend a lot of time jigging lakers on Cayuga, however there's something special about this lake, my favorite for sure

The east side has just as many fish, points, and drops too! My biggest walleye, tiger and smb have come on the east side. Usually weedier than west side for trolling, but for what you are doing its fine. Check out the shelf by the amber fire rescue boat. West side can be crowded especially at night on the points.

Hi Alec, how have you been buddy,

 

it's a blast, I haven't been out much, but getting some free time now, and loving it, hit Cayuga last weekend and picked up a couple decent  lakers

Ha yeah you know it, I'm fishing somewhere this week for sure, just don't know about Saturday.  I hope so!

I'm with you gonefishin71. Personally, I'd rather jig all day to catch one and drop one than boat a dozen dredging for them.
