Fishing Sampson Wall

Recommended Posts

Water temps are starting to drop. I've been trying to get my boys in the boat all summer but their still young enough their not ready for the boat.

I'd like to take them down to Sampson and try off the wall. Any one catching anything in the area? Still to warm yet? Perch and bass would be fine but love to give them a real fish to get them hooked on fishing... instead of the video games... If I get them into fishing, well, I'll be able to do more of it! LoL

Thanks for any info. I could use a live bait setup that works. Tried the sliding egg sinker but seems the weeds will just hide the bait. Can Alewifes be injected with air like worms to float? I've considered bobber with a split shot to keep the bait down. Any info is welcome.

The perch have been active in the canal on south end. If you just wanna catch. There's all kinds of fish. We've been doing well. Go to clute park and fish over near the launch ramp and docks.

Sounds like a good idea. Girl friend might even be down for that. She likes the shore fishing better. Hook it to a surprise fish may the kids will get off the games

These are right from the dock. Last weekend i had a few carp on. Caught a bunch of perch about 6-12" and a few suckers and Rudd...

Corn and night crawlers. There are plenty of bass and pike in the area too.
