  1. Main line to the diver.I never liked mono to the diver as it was a **** to trip it. Always ran something that doesn't stretch.65 lb braid or wire. I always ran a fluorocarbon 20 lb test leader from diver to spoons and 40 lb Ande from diver to flashers and flies and never exceeded 8 ft or so in length so I didn't have to hand line fish into the net
  2. X2 8 ft long at the most. Unless you want to hand line fish into the net.
  3. I see. Thanks for the clarification.
  4. Interesting conversation regarding snubbers. Never ran a snubber on my riggers and never lost a weight because of it. I must just be lucky. Thats after 25 yrs of aggressive fishing.
  5. Thanks guys. If the WD silicone doesn't hold up I'll give it a shot.
  6. White lithium grease is petroleum base. Not recommended for rubber or plastic as it will cause premature break down.
  7. X2. What you might want to consider is you want to run the same weights on all your riggers. I always ran 4 or at least had 4 riggers mounted and preferred the torpedo weights from the old Atomic mold. Always ran true, very little blow back and 1/2 the price of sharks. Sharks are the best if you don't mind paying the price. Different blow back and shaped weights will result in problems.
  8. I always ran Shimano Taloras for salmon. The medium weight would land any salmon in the lake. Plenty of backbone and still enjoy the battle. The Talora roller guide rods for wire were a bit stiff but not horrible. Okumas were a much lighter action rod and the same rating between the Taloras and Okuma Blue diamonds was considerable. Good luck.
  9. You talking for salmon or trout and what brand of rod are you talking about? Also are you talking roller guides or regular guides with a twili tip? These variables make a big difference.
  10. Well I'm guessing we will see how long it lasts as mentioned in my post. If I got to spray um 2 or 3 times a season thats Ok. 2 or 3 launches and I'm guessing I will look for something else. What do you think? Any better suggestions?
  11. So I launched the boat last week and sprayed the rollers up in the parking lot with the WD-40 specialist silicone. Launched again day before yesterday and that boat just slid off those rollers beautiful. Very little effort on my part and very little strain on my bad back. Huge difference and so far so good. Just a matter of seeing how long it lasts now.
  12. Sure if you need to machine it. Otherwise take it to Hank
  13. I have a bunch of well maintained quality tools for sale as I've retired after 40 yrs in the trade. Tools will be sold for 50% of retail. Everything from mic sets to dial calipers to Hermann Schmidt height gauges to B&S dial indicators. To much to list but if your looking for anything I probably have it.
  14. Always ran Malin coffee color in both 20 and 30 lb. 30 lb is a bit more forgiving when it comes to kinks but seemed to get more bites on the 20 lb.
  15. Maybe changed with the new style? When I bought mine it was lifetime on the motors.
