Hi everyone, we are running the first ever paddleboard race across Lake Ontario this year, and are looking for a number of escort boats to follow paddlers across the lake. Some details: Date: September 10th or 11th Location: Crossing from NOTL or Fifty Point Beach, to Cherry Beach in Toronto (depending on wind). Time: 7 am. Paddlers will be on the water anywhere from 5 to 8 hrs. Boats: VHF radio; big enough to carry a 14' board (if necessary); can handle 4 ft swell. Each boat will follow a paddler across the lake as a safety precaution and to hand over nutrition/water. A field of 35 elite paddlers is set, and this is going to be an amazing and widely-followed community event. Compensation will be negotiated with your paddler, but expect to have your gas/travel costs covered, plus some extra for your time... $500 seems to be the range. Hi, we're planning a paddleboard race across Lake Ontairo for September 10/11, 2016 - the first of its kind in Canada with some elite paddlers. We are going to need a number of boats to escort paddlers between Toronto and either NOTL or Fifty Point. All drivers would be asked to escort either one or two paddlers across the lake, most taking 5-7 hours.
