  4. Are you going to use the spin doctor as a lure for Lakers? Sent from my moto z3 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  5. I have always had good experiences at Moore's Outboard Center (in Trumansburg) and Cooks in Lansing.
  6. Have 5 Tite-Lok rail mount adjustable rod holders. Dia, 5/8 " and up $45.00 each Bill
  7. Ive seen it a number of times, most frequently with tigers but also with Pike and purebreds. There are "theories". There are two which make the most sense to me: Burping itself to help swallow/digest a recent meal (swim bladder related?) Or oxygen theory. Watch fish in a tank with low O2 go to the top to bubble/gulp air. For some reason the fish could be seeking a better way to get more dissolved O2. Cool to witness for sure. Never had one act interested in any presentation while doing this - they usually ignore it and just turn a little bit but at least you know you're on fish
  8. I have seen this multiple times in Conesus, Ibay and Braddocks. I have no clue as to why they do it. It is a weird sight!
  9. Thanks for the information. So you were down about 8 feet then? Curious if anyone uses egg sinkers in front of the leader in order to get lures down about the same distance? Assuming the flexibility with these divers makes them a better choice though? We were using 9 foot noodle rods with spinning reels so I am thinking that those rods would not be able to take the stress from the divers.

  13. Last night while fishing a LO trib, I witnessed a pike swimming very slowly with it's head just above the surface. Sometimes it would submerge so that just the front of it's mouth was out and other times you could see the entire head and eyes. This is the second time I've witnessed this. Both times in the spring........... Any theory on what's going on here?
  14. If that was the case I already would have purchased a brand new one. New Lowrance units have totally different power cords. I called Lowrance and they said I would have to find an older model unit with the blue/grey power cords. I am willing to buy any Lowrance that would fit my HDS GEN 2.
  15. Yup, should implement a slot limit during the winter months. I won't get on my soap box but there is a lot that should be done.
  16. Thanks, Sherman. I'll just run divers and boards off the track for at least this year. The Scotty holders have done ok without a backing plate but I sweat it out every time I put a rod in the plastic.
  17. My experience has taught me to never go back to Mercury outboards. I had a 50hp merc on my boat for 8years, had issues from day one and chased them till the day she puked. Repowered with a 90-hp 2stroke Yamaha and put 3 times as many hours over 18 years on that motor without a literal hiccup. I have also seen very good reliability out of bandrus1's ETEC. Yamaha or ETEC get my vote. Good luck with your choice!
  18. Power cords are the same on all the lowrances. Some have different color ends like blue and red but they all fit.
