  12. For sale are 4 brand new in box clarion 20 reels 70.00 each
  13. Been using 20lb Big game for years. It's been good for me. That 45 will hold a good amount. I did try braid a few times when I had smaller reels and needed the line capacity. You won't need that on the 45. But the no stretch is definitely a plus. I use swivel for all my connections.
  14. your 70, im 66. I think we both know what when on here 50 years ago. I ask hows the fishing today they told me go to the white rock its been pretty good. that's the information I got years ago. it was all trial and error. life is common sense. the more complicated you make life the harder to live it. I like it simple. when I meant by the warmer water fish the bottom of the lake. that's were you will find them right now. after all these colds fronts we have had this month, they are glued to the bottom. forget your fancy sonar you wont see them. you have to know something about the lake to catch them. you wont find it in a book. you have to get out and fish and learn the lake. this takes time. good fishing lately, you might get your limit at the white rock. you get it now lol
  15. I"ve had the cutco for about 20yrs. Send it back every winter for a free factory sharpening. Keeps a great edge all season. No complaints here. it's been a good one.
  16. I've been running the Church Walleye boards and the Offshore (med size, don't know model number) Both pretty comparable. Slight preference to the offshore boards. Think they tack a bit better and a bit more off to the side. I did put the pinned OR clip on the back of the church board, prefer that instead of the board sliding down.
  17. 30's for wire and lower LC. 45 for 10 color. I changed my reels over last year. Mostly for faster retrieve rate. So much better. 10 Color would fit on the 30, but you'd be down to a pretty thin spool once it's all out and on a board. That will decrease your line pickup.

  21. Went out of Watkins Glen and we got on the lake around 10 a.m., hoping the south wind wasn't going to be as bad as it was. One mile out the lake was full of sheep so i went on a joy ride and practiced my seamanship for a while on the white caps and after a few hours the wind finally settled down enough to drag a few lines close to shore. Went 1 for 3 on landlocked salmon. All small fish, nothing picture worthy.. Nice to have a day off and get out on the water after a long winter.
  22. This needs to happen. This has been an issue since they closed snagging. From snagging to poaching deer, fish and game fines are a joke in NY state. I just read a story about a guy in Ohio that poached a deer and received a $43,000 fine and loss of his license for 10 years. I would think that is a great way to keep guys (some not all) from breaking the laws! In NY state he would have received a hand slap.
  23. Nothing yesterday, too windy. Nothing yet this morning, we’re headed down towards little salmon.
