  2. I wouldnt try to get towed in with that but for how you describe the use, as long as your bolts have full or at least 3/4 thread engagement you should be fine. If it rips out then you have bigger problems or take you family swimming in some crazy conditions. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  3. Anybody using a traxstech cleat to anchor their boat while hanging out in the bays swimming or just floating? I recently installed a bow mount TM and lost the space for my cleat. I have a 24" track on the bow with a backing plate that my planer mast goes in so I confident the track should be ok but concerned about the cleat possibly pulling out of the base plate. I would not use in rough conditions or emergency situations I have other cleats on the boat. The TM has spot lock so not going to see a lot of use while fishing just when the family is out and I don't want the spot lock running while we are swimming around it. The boat is a 20' aluminum open bow. It is a minimal investment like $30 just trying to avoid wasting a day on the water or worse hurting someone if I get out there and it breaks right away. Thanks Terry
  4. Great fun with a fly rod. When I was young I did a lot of fly fishing for them. If they grew to 5 to 10 lbs I would still be chasing them [emoji228] Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

  8. Good question - following. I think you're gonna hear some people say to get a Fishhawk and find where the thermocline is (wish I could afford one right now)

  10. I feel pretty comfortable with running the gear but what I need to work on is eliminating the bad/ fish less water and identifying the water i should be putting time into. It seems it takes most of the morning before I can start figuring it out and i feel i waste a lot of time waiting for something to work. I was wondering if you guys had any tips or tricks or what what your methods are of choosing where to start. Maybe I need to do more driving around before I set up to fish but hate to waste the early morning bite hours driving around. Maybe it's I'm not paying close enough attention to what the wind just did to the water. Also I'd be interested in how often you change your setup from the initial spread you put out first thing in the morning if it isn't working and how often after that. The main goal this year for me is trying to become more efficient at identifying productive water. I know it changes as the year goes on and fish move all over as spring turns to summer so let's use mid summer... say July as our time of reference. Thanks in advance!!! 16. Shimano TDR has a 7'0 MH model available on fishusa, I use the AFW camo wire and haven't had any issues with it.
  17. its still a solid fishery for sure. i never seem to get tigers, but pike are not an issue. usually able to get at least one over 30" per day targeting them. Read a DEC electrofishing report that came out in 2016 i believe that said there were "multiple 30# northerns caught in conesus." since i read that I've upsized my tackle and sometimes throw musky baits. Nothing over 15lbs yet for me though. Sent from my SM-G955U using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  18. Brand new unused Fishhawk TD.. Asking $100 US.. Checked with USPS and shipping to Canada would be approximately $15
  19. Got into them again this morning. They’re hanging on the outside edge of the weed beds. I move along the edge until I visually spot them and drop anchor and fish. If bite stops I move on till I spot another bunch. Fly rod makes it fun. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  20. how did you guys do - may head out tonight... thanks!
  21. Weekend weather looks decent, a bit of a cool down. I supposed I'll try and fill the second tag, I have one nice gobbler hanging around by the house I have a good chance at, just need to figure him out. He's been one step ahead of me every encounter.
  22. Sounds good Nick, maybe see if there’s any interest in doing it the weekend prior vs the day prior. Might get the guys that are somewhat superstitious of catching a derby winner the day before. Just an idea. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
