  8. Fished last weekend at the Oak. Fleas are bad. Check wire divers every 30 minutes to avoid build up. On rigger lines I put about 125 ft of 50 lb test with 10 ft of 20 lb fluorocarbon leader to avoid fleas. We fished between 120 -160 ft of water. 150 seemed best, although by next weekend everything can change. Always check 70-90 ft range. Good luck vic
  9. 32 years is nothing for a whaler. Those rigs are built to last a hundred years
  10. Hey Guys, Thanks for all the input on both, actually all, sides of my question. The info is great and helped me make the decision to go with the Scottys, although I feel like i would have been happy with either choice. I bought a pair of Scotty 2116's from Fish307 during their "Better Than Prime Day Sale", so now I have my work cut out for me mounting them and wiring them on my Aquasport Explorer 225, which I'm actually looking forward to, then the long drag from southern NJ to Lake O . Can't wait, it's been a long time and I wasn't sure I'd ever be able to do it again physically, but here we go. Thanks again, guys!
  11. Hate missing that again this year, it’s a great event. I’ll post the good bad and ugly when we get in. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  12. We didn’t even launch. White caps is a good indication that it’s mot safe for my boat 😢

  14. Good luck Bill. I will be out Thursday, Friday and Saturday for the Shootout!
  15. Out with my daughter in the am. She’s gone out on it twice and both times was towed in lol. If it happens again tomorrow she’s never going out again! Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  16. I have been having fuel wows this year too Bill. Hopefully we have it figured out now. The pick up tube in the tank was plugged with crap..... I hate being towed in.
  17. Keep in mind the new boat is 32 years old. The motor is 13 years old. All in all still thrilled with the boat. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  18. Yep. Fuel delivery issue. At this point the entire system has been replaced. Think there was a small leak in the metal tube that goes down into the tank. Time will tell. Motor runs flawlessly but both times it was fuel starved. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  19. We’re out now. 22 lber right away in 200 on a two face with a stud fly. Nothing since. Been out 30 minutes. Decent bait around. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  20. Morningdew, I don't have much experience releasing mature salmon after catching them (only small ones which are usually easy to shake of the hook and back in) . I'm assuming some were released to fight another day. I was wondering if they release okay after being caught? Thanks in advance.
  21. Whaler, Did that happen with your new ride?
  22. GMI top design, purchased one a few years back. Outstanding quality, take some measurements and let them know what your looking for. Best money I've spent on my lund Sent from my moto z3 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  23. 7/23 fished Mexico , same area as yesterday. What a difference. One king on 95 rigger and lost a screamer that took 400 ft on a 240 dipsey. What a difference a day makes . Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app
