  6. Howdy all, The Stony Point area has become my home fishing ground. I made it out for the first time this year on Thursday. The water at the Stony Point launch was still over the bulkhead. Anyway, I talked to a fellow at the launch that afternoon, and he said he usually fishes “The Finger” in front of the light house. I’ve heard others refer to the same place, but really couldn’t figure out the exact area they were referring to. Based on what has been described to me, I’ve come up with this determination as to where they are talking about. Am I close ? Also, where is “The Mountain” ? Thanks in advance-Rusty Rusty

  9. When DEC started in 1973 it was agreed on that DEC would manage and build small sites and OPR (parks) would take care of the larger sites. it is unfeasible for dec to collect launching fees on these small sites. Sites like Oak Orchard west side and Sampson on Seneca lake are parks. The public use section of DEC kept trying f or years to get a small fraction of 1% of the gas sales tax which would be more than enough to build new sites and manage all DEC sites. They may be still trying to get that money but state legislators are very stingy with money. Boat launches are not on their radar
  10. As the title states looking for mast pulleys or a mast with pulleys minus the reels ! Thanks in advanced everyone tight line ! Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  13. Thin spoons or spoons with a heavy bend work at slower speeds. The picture below is a R&R 5 1/8” Kodiak Wobbler mag. Note the heavy bend in the spoon allowing it to dance at very slow speeds

  17. I recently updated to a Minn Kota Terrova 80 ipilot 60 inch and really like it so far. Much heavier than my old 65lb 60 inch Minn Kota. I didn’t have any problem selling my old motor either. Plus parts and service are available in the area for Minn Kota. Don’t think Haswing has much other than a cheap price going for it.

  20. I have a 3 foot Mast and one board if your interested Double Reel excellent shape post a number or email and I will send you pictures etc
  21. I've used Repel 100% deet, Cutter, Deep Woods Off and others. They work for about 10 mins right after spraying them on while they are wet. After that didnt phase the flies. It wasn't raining the last time I was out and flies were still biting bad. I think these little ankle biters were out for blood regardless of weather. A nice stiff breeze is about the only thing that keeps them down. The Sawyer Repellent does work better than anything else I've tried. Sent from my SM-G930V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  22. i went to check out the docking situation at our rental. Dock was full of small bowfin wallowing around. I pushed them all back in and didn’t they start coming back up through the spaces in the deck boards. I couldn’t keep up. They’re on their own now. 23. I can tell you you will be happy with the Minn Kota terrova....all to often you get what you pay for!!! I've gotten a couple thousand hours out of each one I've owned and my old one is still going. Not sure you can find a trolling motor that sees more constant use than mine sees as it runs non stop every trip and it has been bulletproof knock on wood.
