  2. Cheesyrider, lots of great walleye fishing in NY and Pa waters. Our resident stocks are bolstered as the Ohio fish move east after the spawn. Normally mostly a night bite in NY in early May but daytime fishing picks up as the lake sets up. You don’t have to drive to Ohio for great fishing. As far as LEU activity it’s likely “tight lipped anglers” and not reflective of the great fishing. The good old days are now on Lake Erie. NY has the best perch stocks on the lake now and the parking lots are full(another reason guys keep their mouths shut). If you want a charter Come Fish Lake Erie site lets you pick a NY port and species then gives you a list of captain choices. Try Lake Erie in 2024.

  4. I have it and the towing Insurance. I lost a tranny line at the marina they came and picked up my truck and took it to a repair shop. For 120 a year I cant see why anyone wouldnt
  5. I've got a very lightly used Canadian Fishing Reels 2:1 Mooching Reel and a custom built rod by Mike Rumig. We don't use it very often, so I would part with it. $900 picked up. Reel is blue and silver.
  6. For the price that they charge and the peace of mind that it gives you, it's a no brainer. I usually trailer my boat so I added the trailer towing as well. Take a look at all the different packages that they offer and compare the prices to having to have your boat towed even only once. You can probably buy 5 years of towing insurance for the price of one uninsured towing event. I am a firm believer in Murphy's Law and it is my belief that the only reason why I never broke down on the water is because I bought the insurance.
  7. While it may be true that environments will continue to change, when the changes are brought about through human activities which includes invasive species the problem is that the changes happen so quickly that the environment can't respond fast enough. With zebra & quagga mussels, they cleared the water. This led to a much deeper weed line. This favored some warm water species. Interestingly, walleyes, which tend to lay their eggs along rocky shoals, have apparently benefited from zebra mussels in that some of the eggs get down in between the mussels. Go figure. Similarly, more weeds & clearer water was advantageous for pike which whose eggs have a natural adhesive that cling to the weeds. The mussels out-competed smelt which have disappeared. But the smelt were introduced anyway albeit delicious and a great prey source for the trout fishery. I believe that alewife were introduced as well. Rainbow trout, brown trout, and salmon are all introduced species. Personally, I think alligator gar, Argentine golden dorado, goliath tiger fish, wels catfish, and payara would all be fabulous introductions
  8. Ok,,, my mistake.. Gobies and mussels have helped the fish populations cayuga lakewide and along the St Lawrence...... got it.....
  9. Also still have these for sale $75 for the pair
  10. For sale…. 2 rod/reel combos 1- Borealis combo with a 10.6 rod 1- Okuma Aria-40a reel paired with a riversider 9ft $100 takes the pair
  11. Not trying to argue with you but here’s some bass tourney results….. https://www.wired2fish.com/news/avena-wins-bass-pro-tour-on-cayuga-lake These guys are filling bags with 5lb plus average fish. Those are St Lawrence and Lake Erie numbers which are World Class smallmouth fisheries. If you think that gobies are bad for bass fishing I really don’t know what to tell you. I can’t speak to sunfish but gobies have turned our bass and walleye fisheries in NY into destinations.
  12. Join the club! I've been looking for a corded remote for my TR-1 for a few months now. I ended up ordering a wireless remote kit in hopes that it will fix my issues. Ebay is your best bet to find one... Goodluck!
  13. bump new season new price $25K. The motor has very low hours. I am taking the boat out of the indoor storage this weekend. PM me if interested. Thank you. Anthony
  14. Not sure what you mean by locations near Rochester. I think it gets you perks at West Marine but the Roch store is pretty useless IMO. Better off investing in a reliable kicker!
  15. Located in Canton Pennsylvania
  16. I was looking at the Boat US tow insurance and it looks pretty reasonable and that there are some boat locations near the Rochester area. Anyone have any experience with them or offer any recommendations or insight?
  17. Getting better?... where?... This post was originally about an entire species that has vanished from an immense watershed... It morphed into a general discussion about how great NY state fishing is.. I can't speak for every water in the state, but can for waters I have fished for 33 years now.. You are mentioning a pocket of life in a small section of a 40 mile long lake as fishing better than ever,,, I'l accept that... However, as stated, the fish populations are way down in most other areas of the lake compared to the pre mussel/goby invasion. The south and mid sections of Cayuga had tons of fishermen fishing for bass, pike, panfish as well as trout... They are gone mostly because there just aren't that many fish left to catch.. Yes, trout/salmon trolling is fine, and will be as long as the fish have plenty to eat.. They will be fine with alewives and gobies being plentiful.. No problem with stocked salmonids.. However, if you REALLY think the warm water fisheries in Cayuga are "better than ever" lake wide, we must be discussing 2 different lakes... The Gobies have severely impacted bass and all other nest raimembers of the sunfish family, as well as yellow perch, and probably and other fish that spawns in rocky, pebbly, broken areas. Try watching a video.. they are relentless nest raiders that no fish can keep out for very long....
  18. Walleyeboyz - Michigan Stingers (green tuxedo, black tuxedo, white, alewife) are solid in the Spring on 15 lb or 20 lb line. In my 8 or so years fishing the bar (mostly Canadian side) I find that stick baits may be hot very early in the season, but not every year nor every trip.
  19. Very true, my wife runs the boat while I run the set-up. I tell her to Crazy Ivan, and she turns the boat to speed up and slow down lures . Triggering those followers for sure. I also fish northern Quebec, a few hours above Manawaki. Walleye and pike. I fish western NY for Muskies.
