  3. So sorry to hear of your loss. My fishng partner and I have been together for more then 30 years. He's about 10 years older then me. (65) He's slowing up in alot of ways and i guess i am too. When he can't do it anymore I just don't know what I'll do. We're going strong this season!! We'll see what the future brings!! Lots of great memories!!! Its not just about the fishing!!! RIP.

  6. Well about trip number 15 or 16 now. But i got one! Worst pic imaginable, but probably mid to upper 30s. What a rush! Shark week hit out of the glass calm with about ten feet of line out on a prop bait. Took the rod out of my hands, tailwalking, almost lost my net and pliers... friggin' chaos. Needless to say im hooked! I can't imagine what a 50 feels like. Was hoping for a better pic but snapped that as soon as i got her. Then she went ballistic as soon add i unhooked her and she was gone, almost with the net. Sent from my SM-G955U using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  9. All I can say , my crew sucked today . 8/16 . We had the hits , but had a hard time keeping them on . Got on water around 10:30 , fished till 7:00. Most fish came from 180-225 fow . Riggers 95 with rocket took 4 hits . Dipsey 250 and 270 took hits with flasher flies. Rigger 80 ft took 2 hits . By the way , the fleas are getting bad . Had to clear lines every half hour. Landed 5 nice kings , 2 steely’s and a water chicken. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  14. I'd much rather use those Penn reels for pulling in big planer boards than the reels that are in the market now. I still use Penn 600's on my little boat. They will probably outlast me and I'm only 51.
  15. Good question. Bills definitely work. Not sure about coins. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

  17. clip the dipsey over when there is still one wrap of braid on the spool than pick up the rod and start letting it out under tension that way the wire is never slack.

  19. Still the same for you but they moved the machine from the upper parking lot to the lower drive by the launch
  20. The volume of the leader, line, and backing is a constant whether spooled forwards or backwards. By initially filling the reel’s backing last (backwards), you assure that you will fill the reel’s spool to the optimal point. You get the maximum amount of backing on the spool while eliminating the possibility of having too much backing (which will bind the mainline or leader against the reel frame cross member or the level wind).
