  1. Past hour
  2. I think you are right about the contaminants Lucky.
  3. Today
  4. The plain nightcrawler is easy to overlook with all of the other options available but I have had days when jigs and blades wouldn’t get hit but a worm and split shot drifted on the bottom took fish.
  5. Eels can move across land, especially after large rain events when the ground is saturated. Maybe that’s how??
  6. I am seeing a lot of different prices for Downriggers. The proceeds go to my Aunt, as she is a widow now. Lowering the price. Buy one for $225, or both for $400 or best offer. I live in Medina, Ohio. South of Cleveland. If you are coming from far away, then I am willing to drive up to 50 miles to meet you somewhere. Jeff (330) 483-1136
  7. This was my modified glowcicle that I had colored last night. It worked. My other 3 producers are on the deck pic.
  8. Try slip bobber and nightcrawler
  9. Took the morning off to try again and was met with swells big enough to make me hurl. Dirty water didn’t produce for me even when the water temp went up 2 degrees besides 1 hit and run. Was getting discouraged but sucked it up and changed up colors and hit some fish in clear water mid-morning around 10:30. Started off working in 5-10’ with a Smithwick, rapala and a modified Icicle. Icicle on my rigger down 4’ hit first and snapped my leader on the strike. Too choppy to retie so I tossed out my 1 color core with a Sodus Buckeye. No more hits for 2 hours. Moved out to clear water but still under 10’ and hit a pod of fish. Every rod went off within 5 minutes and had to net 2 at once. Third one hit as I was untangling hooks. Decided to put two lines back out as I was packing up to leave and the leadcore went off again, this time was a noticeable heavier fish. The drag on that Okuma goes from weak to locked without much in between. Had to tighten it to gain on it and of course it turns and snapped me off at the leader. 10# leader lost me 2 spoons today but great to land some quality fish.
  10. I have a 2 year old 24 volt, 80 lb thrust, 72 inch shaft terrova with universal sonar for sale. Includes foot pedal and hand remote, 2 group 31 interstate batteries. $ 2200
  11. I don't drive, so you would have to pick them up if you don't mind.
  12. There are some chartruse, about a dozen or so
  13. Let me add, Anthony's knowledge of where to go, what to use and set up was spot on. Within the first 30 minutes 6 of the rods we had just put out were back in the boat. All with fish. I was excited and worried all at the same time. No way was I going to keep the early pace up. LOL Thanks Anthony for a great trip.
  14. Warm winter means trickle spawn. They will be 75% finished by April 1st opener
  15. We used (80's) to catch them at night off the Summerville pier while fishing for Kings. My recollection is that they were restricted from harvest because of the sky high contaminant levels. I fail to understand how they could be present in the upper Genesee if they all travel out to spawn in the Sargasso Sea, there are three impassable falls in Rochester, and another set in Letchworth. But I do recall my grandfather having one he caught when I was young (50's) and my recollection was that he had been fishing at Conesus, but he may have just been down on the pier. Here's a lot of information: Species Assessment for American eel (ny.gov)
  16. Earliest I've ever been in.... I thought about going in last week. Glad I didn't... Hate shoveling snow out of the boat... Good luck this season!
  17. Glad to see your boat in the river today! I have been the only one for the past couple weeks.
  18. Dang, I forgot about my depth raider. Got to figure out a spot and wiring for that too! Most the above is just what's going on in the back of my boat and I haven't even started addressing the front with the trolling motor and house battery either. Might just end up rewiring a whole bunch of it, adding a battery switch, adding a fuse box (if there isn't one already), and moving batteries around to get it to what I'm thinking it should be. Poor boat...
  19. Was tough to go to work yesterday morning seeing how calm the lake was and I had that fishing itch all day. Hit the water after work at 4:30 motored down to shipbuilders only to find clear water moved in. Searched around but no luck on finding good water inside and picked away at a few. Turned out and worked that 20'-30' and it was game on even had a quad at one point. 9 rod spread, 2 x chinook divers, 2 x 1 colors, 5 flat lines. Both natural and bright colors worked despite the clear water. Chartreuse Bay rat and Smithwick, Mongoose Stinger, Chicken wing Stingers with gold back. Got one close to 10lbs biggest so far. Should be back out Saturday weather permitting.... Eric
