  1. Past hour
  2. Noteworthy that 50% of the fish we cleaned had spawned already. If you want to get in the the big fish action, you better come soon. We were fishing with a large group of boats north of Bass Islands near Canadian border.
  3. Yesterday
  4. We got our three man limit with three throw backs and a few lost fish. It was a seven hour grind however. With 100 boats around, they got a little goofy at times until we figured them out.
  5. the launch ramp docks are in. the bridge will open for boats on monday 4/1/24.
  6. Actually heard a lot of folks struggled. Great job Gill.
  7. This weekend the bridge will open for boating,or maybe on Monday. Will the launch also be operational?
  8. Holy cow are they stacked in there!
  9. Spoonfed- that’s the exact program I started with until my rigger leader snapped on a hit. Seeing that it got hit 4’ down I put my 1 color out with a spoon instead on an 3rd board and got 2 more off that one.
  10. Glad it worked out for you. To start I always run a shallow rigger behind the boat way back, an Inside board with a stick bait an outside board with a stick bait and make adjustments from there according to what the fish tell me. This is when fishing shallow with the boat in 6 to 20 fow.
  11. Briad-swivel-floro-snapswivel for everything. usually from waders its hard to keep it off the bottom.
  12. Hello All, I lost one of my inline planers this spring. Went online to find a replacement would cost about $40 delivered. Not worth it! There is nothing to them! So a little time in the shop, and I have a perfectly functional mirror of an original. Even used a CNC to carve a wooden mold for that slidey lead weight for the bottom. You don't need a CNC to make the form, but I am learning how to run CNC machines so it came in handy. On its test flight, I put it in the water and thought, "Oh man! It's floating funny! What did I do wrong?" The problem was that a fish bit right away! The new board helped me get a 10 fish day on Lake Ontario. The highlight was when I cranked in my lines at quitting time, one lure was being followed by a salmon! Maybe I should fabricate a mast and reels for a proper big setup. Have a good and safe season everyone!
  13. Do you use the swivel for spinners and spoons ? I run a swivel for spinners and a snap swivel for spoons . How long you letting the 3/4oz cleo fall ?
  14. Is walleye open in another state?
  15. Im testing only a 30” leader so i have no knots to deal with going through eyelets or reel. Love it so far but do try to fish dirty water. I also put a mini spro swivel in between so there are no braid to flouro knots.
  16. I just got a Lamiglas X-11 8’6 M 8-12# 1/4-3/4oz Put on a Shimano Stradic Ci4+ 3000 with 20# hi viz braid . Added a 6ft 10# mono bumper (for a little shock absorption) to 10# fluro leader . Switching between 3/8oz Steelhead Slammers and 2/5 oz Little Cleos or 1/2oz Kastmaster . Going out this weekend to some mouths to see if the browns will play . Should I upgrade length ? Will be casting from piers/surf .
  17. Setting up and two pigs hit
  18. Thanks for the input guys. I ran all 3 off of my inshore side yesterday instead of spreading them out and took fish on all of them. Definitely helps the confidence when I change up a routine and it works.
  19. Went to the inlet and saw a lots of pike and rud and the very first walleyes starting to swim up but I couldn’t get clear pictures lots of 30”+ gives me hope for a 40” later this year
