    8047.jpg

    INGREDIENTS

    * 1 1/2 pounds salmon fillet

    * salt and pepper to taste

    * 3 cloves garlic, minced

    * 1 sprig fresh dill, chopped

    * 5 slices lemon

    * 5 sprigs fresh dill weed

    * 2 green onions, chopped

    DIRECTIONS

    1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees F (230 degrees C). Spray two large pieces of aluminum foil with cooking spray.

    2. Place salmon fillet on top of one piece of foil. Sprinkle salmon with salt, pepper, garlic and chopped dill. Arrange lemon slices on top of fillet and place a sprig of dill on top of each lemon slice. Sprinkle fillet with chopped scallions.

    3. Cover salmon with second piece of foil and pinch together foil to tightly seal. Place on a baking sheet or in a large baking dish.

    4. Bake in preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes, until salmon flakes easily.

  2. Longline is right. The site is best viewed at t resolutions higher than 800x600. Couple that with a favorites list on the left side and you are looking at even less real estate than 800x600. cheese.gif 95% of the current users of the site don't have a problem. Site also seems blazing fast on my end (both at home and at work). Try upgrading your computer and Internet connection if you are unhappy with the speed. afterDinner.gif I can assure you we got the top servers you can buy so I know the problem is not on our end.

  3. Don't know how many of you got a chance to see this but its worth the read! OH MY GOSH!

    This day was a day that is beyond what I ever imagined possible. After sitting a while on some rolling gator gar, we decided to move to a different spot for longnose. Just after we switched our Retriever reels for spincasts, a big one rolled out behind us, like it was sticking his tongue at us for giving up. So...I said, "Let's make one more pass thru there, and then we can get out of here." Halfway thru that pass, we looked down and seen an absolute monster right in front of the boat, only about 1 foot deep! We both said "Oh my God!" at the same time and both shot the fish at exactly the same time. Both were perfect hits right behind the gill and the fight was on!

    I was very nervous trying to fight the fish due to not having our Retrievers on. I did my best to stay on the trolling motor to follow the fish on 3 different runs. The power those fish have is awesome! Just as we began to worry that one of our lines was wrapped up, the fish floundered to the top, about 15 yards out. Keith jumped down and grabbed a 3rd bow that did have a slotted Retriever on it and put a 3rd arrow into the fish. With that line, he hauled her right to the boatside while I put bows 1 and 2 on the deck and scrambled to get the gaff ready. Soon, the gaff was in the fish and we could actually take a look at the fish. WOW, I couldn't believe the size of the head. I knew the fish was a giant before we shot, but man, this was just breathtaking!

    It took a while to get her into the boat. We literally could not drag her over the side. I was just about to concede to the fact that we would have to tow her to shore when it came to me to try the very back of the boat where the freeboard was less. Finally, both of us managed to grunt and strain enough to get her in.

    Unbelievable, at least to us!

    Here are a couple of pix. We got the fish certified at 244.5 lbs, a pending Rayburn record! She was 8'2" and had a 44.75" girth. This kept us busy for the rest of the day, so we will be heading home a day early. This day just can't be beat!

  4. Hey Dave,

    No need to wonder about other members. I have personally dealt with every individual having any problem what so ever logging in and made sure everything was taken care of. There shouldn't be anyone now that can't log in or is still having issues. If you know anyone that for some reason is still having problems just have them contact me via the contact page located in the About Ussection and I will fix any issue they might be having.

    Now if I could just get everyone to buy an Apple Computer... :lol: I guess I will stick to the Firefox conversion for now.

  5. Hey everyone,

    I recently received a PM that I wanted to share with everyone incase others might be interested. The individual wanted to know if there was a spell checker on this board. Here is my reply:

    Hello - I currently don't have a spell check feature built into the board, but this would be my recommendation. I am guessing that you are using Internet Explorer as your browser. If you switch over to the Firefox (Mozilla) browser, not only is it faster, safer and more secure, but there is also a built in spell checker for you. Don't worry about losing any of your favorites either, they will all be imported automatically for you. Simply visit this link to download Firefox:

    I hope this help!

    Take care,

    Chad

  8. Wow guys, I am blown away by all the positive feedback.

    "Fantastic job on the new format"

    "Site looks great!"

    "Wow!! The site looks awesome!! Nice work to all involved!! "

    "The board is fantastic!! Thanks a million!!"

    and the list goes on and on...

    This truly means a lot to us everyone so thank you again for all your kind words. Ryan, to address your question about the time and money associated with a site like this, well usually I don't share this kind of information but I will give you some idea of what goes on behind the scenes. This site, from concept to design to being fully coded has taken approximately 4 months. The ball started rolling back in November of last year and we worked very hard every night to put together something that everyone could enjoy.

    What MANY people do not understand however is the cost associated with such a site. While I will not give you an exact number I will say the total cost for this site has been just under 5-figures ($XX,XXX) for designers and coders and security, etc., etc. A cost that my company was willing to incur on its own because the site had a personal significance that I know many of you share. This does not include the never-ending hosting and maintenance costs (which currently stand at around $200/month). So over the next 10 years we are looking at $24,000 for just hosting ALONE to keep this site going. This is why I always get a good laugh out of the people who complain about an advertisement on the site when they are CLUELESS as to how a website actually works or the costs, time and maintenance required to run a site of such high grade. So next time you or I hear of someone complaining how a single ad on the site ruined their day, try not to chuckle too hard at their lack of understanding and narrow sighted point of view.

    On a side note, I hope many of you plan on going to the Rochester Sportsmen's Show this weekend (Mar. 2-4) at the Dome Center (Monroe County Fairgrounds, Rochester, NY). You will find me with some corn in my back pocket at the trout pond ;) Cya all then!
