  2. There's always some Wack-o in the crowd....I change all trebles to singles on spoons. Usually 3/0 or 4/0. Yes, I brain hook an occassional shaker but not very many. Over the years, flying solo, I've lost a lot less fish at the net with singles than trebles.

  3. Looks like what they want to adopt is to let as much of the lake out as possible from the middle of December through the end of March as long as they don't damage anything east of the power station.

The whole order (both 1958 & 2007) is designed to help power generation & commercial navigation. They forget that com nav is what has put us in the situation we're in with invasives. However the IJC isn't concerned with the condition of the water, only whether the big ships have enough to safely float on.

This low water means a lot of guys won't be able to get out of the bays, ponds & creeks in the spring.

This order will definitely help property owners as far as damages go, but if they have docks, the docks will be out of water in the spring.

They say they'll favor the environmental option if mitigation takes place. They really don't define "mitigation" but leave that up to the states. I don't see NYS having funds to appease anyone for property losses due to periods of high/low water.

(Personnally I think Montreal would make a really good wetland.)

  4. FA? - Before you can them, get yourself some ladderback tape. Try the silver, purple, greens & glows. Also some medium/large size eyes. (i.e make up some "spooks") Remove old tape (I use UN-DO to remove old tape) Try this on the black & white spoons.

On the white & white ones, try some of the "Mountain-Dew" tape. (I'd try 1/2 pc of the "full blank" tape on them)

On the Yellow & white, get some orange, red or even pink full strips. Use a paper punch to cut out some dots. I'd try a "five of diamonds" type pattern.

  5. The best part of a NASCAR race is indeed the end. Because that’s when the d@mm thing is over with. I mean if you really want to watch speeding cars, bumper to bumper, weaving in & out of traffic, passing on the right, an occasional wreck, with absolutely no yellow flags, then just take a drive on I490 at rush hour.

The DEC is asking the stakeholders for suggestions towards the 2010 change proposals. They said someone suggested that the Brown trout limit go to one Brown trout in the tribs, not to a two fish limit. Nothing to do with Lake fishing. Sorry if notes weren't clear on that. Also, it’s only a suggestion. Doesn’t mean it’ll be enacted. If you think it’d hurt then let the DEC regional fish manager know.

  7. Ray – He can’t be your twin. He can spell.;)

Although you might make a good duo. Just like Bert & Ernie; Frick & Frack; Chip & Dale; Itchy & Scratchy; Beavis & Butt-head; Spaghetti & Sauce; and of course, Rod & Reel :lol:

    Think Spring :!:

  8. No problem guys. Yes they all did a pretty good job. Too bad they only had a couple hours to present months worth of data.

The meeting didn’t have a lot of good news but I feel better that they used the words “down slightlyâ€

  9. Maybe there is something to those "explosive" hits that ReelJerks keeps getting on his bottom bouncer all the time :!: :?:  ;)

Actually, I can remember one of my uncles telling me about "war effort" factories in Rochester. Supposedly places like Bausch & Lomb, Kodak, Dupont were on some secret German target list.

Back in the early 60's, there was a farm field behind us on Whitier Rd (Ogden) that had a wierd wire-trapieze set-up between some telephone poles & we couldn't figure out what it was. It was posted by the gov't & the farmer told us that his Dad used to have a deal with the gov't to test fuses there. We never knew if we should have believed him or not. There also was a airplane "spotter" tower on the corner of Whitier & Buffalo Rd which was interesting because we could never figure out why a German plane would ever approach Rochester from the west. (It's setup in the airport now)

    Come on Spring :!:
