  1. Our E-Z Steer is original equipment with our boat. 1986 BlueFin - connects our 90 h.p. to our 15 h.p. kicker. Had to make one repair on it since we bought the boat in 1998. Had to have the kicker motor connecting fitting welded to the plate. No other problems befoer or after.

  2. Rodney,

Look at it from the other perspective. You have never really fished for Salmon and wan to know what to do. I watched and have copies of Chip Porter's videos that Traveling Man purchased a number of years ago when we were just really getting into the salmon scene. I found the same thing that we already knew a lot / most of it from this and other boards. It was still exciting to watch as the blod started to boil watching them catching fish and remebering what we were missing until next spring/fall. Maybe Keating's videos aren't as "hands on" as Proter's were??? Don't know have not talked to you avout them.

Also not a big reader so never read his books.

  3. Years ago the Oswego Pro Am had a statement in the rules regarding NO COMMUNICATION reading that the observer would "collect and hold all cell phones until the conclusion of the fishing day".

Now this would preclude a "captain" (pro or amatuer) from hiding some messaging electronic device in the head. But now if I was the observer I am going to go inspect the head right away?!?!?

  4. Rodney,

You probably won't see a bill until the spring is my guess!! Although maybe Scott has a better feel for it as to when you'll receive the bill. Maybe you'll get the charge when the repairs are done??? as you are having work done too.

  5. gokudl3,

I am sure you will get plenty of local help but in case you don't - Don Cook's in Lansing on Armstrong Road is a GREAT Mercruiser guy. Don and his son Perry come highly recommended. I know it's a bit of a haul form Hamlin but if worse comes to worse he's there for you.

  6. It sounds like the toggle is wired up backwards. I have older Mag 10's and the down position is "hold down" for descent. The up position is up for continuous retrieve.

The other "push button" is a circuit breaker reset button. If there is a current overload - like when your ball is all the way up and you don't turn the switch off the circuit breaker trips. Then after you turn the switch off again the white button resets the circuit breaker for continued operation.

    Hope this helps.

Oh the older Mag 10's are sloooooow. Not like the newer ones and especially the high speed ones.

    Clarke
