  1. pmjasper,

We ownand use exclusively the Ifinder H2O. We are pleased with the unit and would recommend it. We use the recommended RAM mount and have it mounted on the dashboard of our 19' BlueFin. Best advice is get the cigarette lighter power adapter as the 3 AA batteries go pretty fast especially with the use of the light. We use it a lot in the dark early a.m. Also make sure you get an SD memory card (BUY.com sometimes has them for free after rebate - just shipping and some times free shipping too) to save your waypoints. If you ever have a problem and need to send it in for repair Lowrance doesn't transfer waypoints to a replacement unit. We learned this when our earlier hand held fell on the floor (pre-RAM mount days).

  2. Skeiner,

Have (had) ;( a couple Silver Foxes. Lost one think it was green and still have a blue. Got them from "Traveler" in the Kingston area a while ago. Don't remember how we lost the other one but thinking it was in a good salmon.

Question is - how do they hold up to those Kings powerful jaws. Never had the chance to put one out again after landing a fish?

Maybe tose guys can repost them?

You know the menory isn't what is used to be.

    Thanks,

  4. Upgrady,

Have the same problem with auto login. Used to type in WA for waterlogged and my password would pop in the window and all I would have to do is click on submit/login and bingo - now even when I check the "check box" NADA - have to manually log in each time.

  5. With all the Homeland Security changes upcoming I was speculating what was going to happen for the 2008 LOC Derby when a passport is required for re-entry into the US and we leave Fort Niagara and fish the Welland Canal and return to Fort Niagara after fishing :?:

I know we come and go as we please currently but what do y'all thin about after this change occurs :?:

    No difference :?:

Border Patrol or Coast Guard watching to check passports :?:

    Just a thought

  6. Wll I am one who has gone to the dark side I guess

We started out with Black's but then after fishing with a friend (Spoonfed-1) several times and observing on Thrillseeker during the Pro-Am we switched from Blacks to Scotty's.

Reason is......you can see when you have a fish on the hook even before you have a release AND you won't drag a dink salmon around for a long time reducing your productivity during derbys etc.

I do have to say it caused us to change the way we load our rigger rods. We used to load them heavy with the blacks and now load lighter with the Scotty's and see the fish many times before the line is out of the release. Takes a lot of time to acquire this skill though.

Don't get me wrong the Blacks are great releases once you find the right tension and a a result almost never false release unless you are doin MACH I.
