If you all recall , snagging of both salmon AND TROUT we're both legal .And in my younger days ,I did it not knowing any better because we were told they did not bite and everyone else was doing it . I remember there was a ton of pushback about banning it , especially from bait shops because of the lack of revenue they might incure . And back in the horse and buggy days , trot lines , spearing , gill nets were also legal . But hey , fish the way you want .
You really cant trust , or at least I can't , Bass masters or MLF . Any organization that would have or condone fishing Tournaments during spawning season is suspect .
I'm sorry to say this but this is a big issue . It changes fishing and not for the better . This just gives the environmentalist Anti hunting fishing people all the ammo the need . And I also must admit , I would side with them on this . I can't turn my head in this .
Seemingly this is all done in the name of winning a fishing tournament . Win at all costs , the ends justify the means . I really have no respect for that . What everyone else does affects the rest of us .
Hey Gambler , its funny you posted the pic of the 2 guys with the Wii visors . I was thinking that was next . And then you posted that .
Thats why I posted it. After reading what you wrote, that popped up on Facebook and I started laughing thinking about this thread!

You aren’t wrong for having an opinion, others aren’t wrong for having their own personal choices. Your boat, your choice. I’m a minimalist when it comes to Lake O. I will say when I fish with others here, on their boats, I enjoy watching what they do.
Right on Bill! Today's society we are too worried about what everyone else is doing. No one forces us to run what technology or equipment that is out there.

Appreciate all of your preferences but would like to know if there is any science behind the favorite choices. Any proof that the Stealthcore colors of black and red provide more stealth or the micro core thinner diameter does the same? Or does it really matter what brand used if the flouro leader provides 40 feet of stealth. I'm really wondering if that's the case........
I like the stealth core because of its durability. I have run Mason, Suffix and Stealth core and the Stealth Core is a lot more durable than the other two brands. As for stealthier, I wouldn't say it's any different in that aspect.

The only reason why I mentioned Mayers is their gas service. They would probably pump a lot more gas thus making it worth their while.
I doubt it would make a difference in their sales. The number of fishermen that fish the derby from Ibay is low. IF they use the launch and fish out of Ibay, they are not going to pay for gas on the water when they can get it way cheaper on land.

The weigh stations are not paid to do this. It's a lot of hassle for not getting paid.

Many NYC business leaders are concerned they are next because what he got convicted of is common business practice . Kathy said not to worry , it's just Trump . So she just admitted it is a vendetta against only him. Election interference . That should concern any American . I don't know how anyone can honestly say its better now than when he was president . Polls show Americans are waking up .
The problem is your political choices can affect you fishing or hunting . Your freedoms allow you to be able to go .
There are proposed laws to ban hunting tournaments . Fishing could be next . And please don't tell me it couldn't happen . I would never have thought I would see what I'm seeing now .
The NYC business leaders voted for this.....
It could happen and more than likely will down the road.

Prices did not go up 30%. And just imagine how much worse it would have been for me if my retirement savings would not have gone up 30%.
I'm not complaining.
You're right, they only went up 20-25% in four year period. Groceries went up 25%. A lot of financial analysts are saying if the economy doesn't change direction, the stock market is going to take a huge tumble. That will help your 409 plan.....

My 409 went up by well over 30%
But the money you spent on groceries, everyday stuff, gas and heating your home made that a loss. Everything has gotten more expensive in the past three years.

Looking for some advice of using two trolling bags and what size bags. I am running an 18 Tracker Targa with a 150hp Mercury that in clutch ahead, trolls at around a little over 3mph. I want to troll down to 1.5 when using harnesses for walleyes but generally run 2.2 to 3 for browns and kings. I am looking to run two bags instead of one for steering purposes. Thoughts? Thanks
22" should work.

When I target Lakers I use cowbells, and I go to the bottom, and I slow it down to about 1.5 miles an hour.
Some of the videos I have seen this winter, captains talk about running for kings and lakers at the same time.
Because I’m running between 2.5 to 3.0 mph for kings typically, is this a speed good for lakers as well?
Because I usually pull a lot of my poles before setting up my laker cowbells knowing I’m gonna be going 1.5 or less. It’s kind of a commitment to say, ok let go for lakers now bc things are slow.
Just wondering if what I’m doing is right or if I should tweak my approach.
I hope the LOU peeps are well, this weather is getting me stir crazy to go fishing! As always, thx for any feedback and let’s pray that mahomes loses and cries on national television about a bad call.
You can do it with dodgers, flashers and traps at king speeds and it will put a couple lakers in the boat. It's not as effective as 1.0-1.8 at the ball with cowbells and rigs. I do run high rods for kings, steelhead and browns at times while laker fishing. I use Stingers and bend them so they work at slow speeds. The only issue with catching Kings while laker fishing that slow is the kings 90% of the time charge the boat and end up passing the boat.

Do you feel like you have to turn wheel a ton to dock? The 1.7 is less effort but a lot more turns from lock to lock than the 2.4
Not at all. Its better than the system cable system that was in there before put in hydraulic steering. I sent you a PM.

Yeah that would be awesome if you could look to see what helm you have installed.
I already had a EV-200 with the newer Sport Pilot installed - the one they dont sell or even service anymore.
You run a I/O with a kicker tied to the outdrive right?Just heard back from my mechanic that installed mine. He used the 1.7 HH5271-3 Dometic

lol rapalas work well when those lips aren’t breaking every other fish.
Find older used ones. The old ones were better quality.
Rods per person on the boat?

Alewife are rebounding until we get another long winter again. We all know how well the alewife did in the two hard winters 10 years ago.
