  1. You only live once you do what you have to do !!!!!!!.....One problem Nick is once you get married things change and then the crumb snatchers come along and you only hope and pray that everybody likes to fish and possibly hunt......I have been pretty lucky with my pick, but she used to help pick different color plastic worms 15 years ago when I was fishing the bass hard, and rigging up the Texas and Carolina rigs.....You can't go wrong with that.......Woody...

  2. Nick good report I just got back in town late last night from running two cars to Florida for a guy out of the city......Sorry to hear fishing was not good this weekend I am hoping that things will settle down in the next day or so and I can get out for a Salmon or two......Nick are you coming up friday for the start of the derby or Saturday......I am not sure yet if I will be out on Friday......Woody....

  3. CDS I personally only like to run the dodger/Fly combos off the wires, and run only spoons off the riggers.....It is something I learned from a Charter boat Captain.....I have not had any problems except for running a leadcore down the chute with the full spread....From now on the lead will be run off a church board or my big boards....Typical spread will have both wires with the dodger/flies and spoons off the riggers and the lead with a spoon depending on where the thermocline is.......Woody.

  4. CDS, We have had some real good luck with the lures you spoke of....Another hot lure is the Green Thunder and 42nd spoon, Magenta shad for the brownines and the Chicken Wing.....Also any white or green ehip with either a silver/white fly or a green fly.......I have run my one and only spin doctor to no avail.....I do not have much confidence right now in that spinny.... Once I personally start getting some action with it, it will be run more often............Another thing most of fish have come with the screen mostly blank....Where I find a great screen has been pretty unproductive for me in the last week.......Woody.

Nick, I will be running a couple Lexus's to West Palm Beach this weekend so I will not be around to fish......Let me know how you do.....Woody.

  5. Yeah Nick we have been running rubber bands anytime I have the dipseys out with a very loose drag....This is the first time after a 20 minute fight we lost the fish and had the treble hook missing off the fly..... Maybe it was just a bad leader on the fly or one bad @#@ Salmon which I am in favor of.......We usually scan between channel 07 or 08 so I can keep in contact with the Pennsylvania connection, Jus lookin, Scotch and Sodus and Reel Me Mike who is actually from Cortland............Woody.

  6. Nick I fished Sunday morning late because I did not get out of the firehouse till 7:00 am.... My nephew and I setup in 50 FOW and there was a nice picture there.....worked to no avail....Started going deeper of Boulder and boated a small rainbow on the NBK 62 down over 85.....Dropped the NBK back down to 62 and it fired at 100 fow lost the fish and it mangled the split ring and took the treble hook....Brand new out the package.....Checked the drag on the reel thinking it was to tight....Not at all....Very shocked...Oh well...Got the spoon back down and took a rip on the wire out 210" on a 2 setting with white echip with sliver/green howie...Lost that fish....Nephew reels the combo up to find the trable hook ripped off the fly.... Never seen that before...So I check the drag and it is fine.....These Chinooks are some powerful creatures...Both the fish we lost screamed some serious line out....Also boated a skipper on the NBK again......Been a good lure this year for us....Back at the dock by 12:00.....Woody....

  7. I am selling a 1986 Penn Yan with the 305ci engine and Mercruiser outdrive, the boat has been professionally maintained by Pugsleys Marine. I had them put a new prop on her along with 2 new Interstate batteries, new sparkplugs, new wires, new washdown pump, new alternator, new coil, distributor cap and rotor, new fuel filter they pulled the outdrive and cleaned and lubed..Also just changed the engine oil....This thing purrs like a kitten.....Boat has 2 Cannon Mag10's, 2 Big John Planer board reels, 2 triple rod holders, 2 dual planer boards, a new Lowrance X107CDF Fishfinder and a new VHF radio...I also have a spare prop and 2 sets of canvases..The cuddy interior is mint condition...Also comes with 4 PFD's and flare kit..I am upgrading to a bigger boat and I am asking $8,500 or Best Offer.......It also comes with a 2000 Venture trailer that is in mint condition...Boat can be viewed in its slip or seatrialed very easily............Thanks.....Woody.

  8. Nick nice weekend, we have been doing pretty good out of Sodus also..Mainly a spoon bite for us, Yellow Killer, NBK, Alewife, Emerald Shad, Magenta Shad, Chicken Wing, Green Thunder, Coyote, Watermelon....We did get a few on dome Pro-Trolls with Howies but not many.....Out front or west in the same depth range has been good.....It is amazing how things can change so fast out there in the matter of a few hours......I will be on the water in the AM.... I will let you know how we did.....I will bring the Sharpie with me to do some coloring on the White Spinny........ Woody.

  9. Hit the water at 5:30 am with Finders Keepers and we had all the rods in by 6:00 am... First fish came in 80 FOW down 54 on a yellow killer Stingray at 6:45 am..15 lb King.. Took a rip on the Dipsey with Green e-chip with green howie but dropped her....Took another rip on the same thing an hour later and things dried up....Went in to 65 FOW and there was some good bait and marks.... Took a nice 25 lb King on a Chartreuse E-chip with a Green Dolphin Twinkie rig...... Tried C&R that baby with no luck...Trying to get back around to net her and the rigger went with a nk28 alewife down 35 over 70 FOW....Nice 23 lb King...She was bleeding bad so we had to put two in the box for my smoker, darn it.......Well I thought I had the fish lined up after last nights outing and went out there to find the temp. rose 30 feet and the bait and fish gone......I have to thank an old employer for a tip that helped me put a couple majors in the boat.....Thanks Baha Joe............Not sure when I can get back out, maybe next week..........Woody

  10. Fished with the Wife and our two girls tonight out of Sodus started fishing in 100 FOW at 6:30 tonight....Two riggers and two wires.... First fish came 56 down over 103 FOW on the Yellow Killer Stingray.....Next was the Green Thunder down 48 same depth....Several rips on these two set-ups...Just putting the Green Thunder back down when the Wire went with the White E-Chip and White and Silver Howie..The wire was out 180' on a 2 setting... A bad Camera phone pic of the wife fighting and me holding it she was too tired and it was to heavy..26lbs...A nice pic of my 11 year old daughters 15lb King......Off the water at 8:15 C&R all fish.......Lots of smiles and plenty of action for less than two hours....3 for 7.....Not to bad...A very lively graph tonight with Streakers from the bottom up into the riggers...Nice Bait clouds...That New Lowrance does a great job........Woody

  11. Got a late start because I was on nights so hit the water around 9:30 am made it to the center of the bay and the boat died.... Not getting into that but we found the fuse that blew replaced it and started working out in front of the channel in 100 FOW.... Took a good rip on a NBK down 76 lost that spoon and the liberator it was attached too... Took another hit on a 40 second spoon, nothing.....By the way had a newbie with us that just did not get to the rod quick enough.....Finally got a rip on the Yellow Killer down 84 over 150 FOW and Finders Keepers was next to the rod so he hooked it for newbie and we boxed a 10lb King.... Had a couple more knock-offs that newbie did not get too.... that was it until 4:15 pm.... Bad time of day to be on the water and we felt it today..... Seemed to be a weird current had the boat flying at 3.6-3.8 SOG on GPS.... Never gone that fast before...... I need a Subtroll on the Boat to make fishing a touch more controlled..........Woody.

  12. Tim sounds good she is back operational and in the slip ready to fish..... No Kings yesterday I think I am a little rusty and I have to make a couple minor adjustments to the boat.....

Ray we got caught in the BASS deal too..... I tell ya with the light fog and a foggy windshield and them bass boats zipping around I almost needed a beer at 6:00 am..... It was much easier dealing with the waves on the lake...... Woody.

  13. Slid the boat in at 6:00 am at the South end with JollyII and headed to the lake to find a bumpy ride out there. Started in 100 FOW worked to 120 FOW down 98 took a rip on a R&R Watermelon. Got her back down again and we took a 9 lb Brown on same deal. Dropped it back down and took another shot but missed it.All in 30 minutes.. Nothing until 10:00 am and we took a nice 15 lb Rainbow on a glow frog in 155 FOW down 126 we C&R and that was it til noon when I had to go back in to go to work.....

Thanks to everyone that gave me some tips on the boat, she is purrring like a kitten now, I found the Coil was bad and when it warmed up it failed.......I can finally get back to fishing
