to ans. yer 1st post....yes 80% of the time it is a directional troll look at a "current" map and you will be amazed at what is going on out there. and it changes sometimes in a matter of hours. but their is one thing that changes very little....the bottom..........
as to yer 2nd post usually ya want a proper speed for yer lures.... on yer (bad dir. troll) maybe ya need to raise the ball a tad or drop it to find that happy colum of water also do the same with yer speed ..
whatever you do if it works stick to it ..unless you have the time and paitence to try new stuff.

if it revs that long i might suspect a little further from the carb check yer seal at engine conn..on the other hand some pay hundreds for a speed control to change presentation..... but the reving sounds lean which means less lub to where its needed

ya got advise from some of the most experianced folks on lake o -
whats next ? your lucky underware? i run the revo's with glass due to saltwater they clean easy with speido ,t shirt or any other cloth without scratching , or smearing,unless you wipe with the back of the speido.
.with plastic ya gotta rinse with fresh water ,not a easy ting to due if you run in the conditions i do..a tad heavy with glass but good quality frames that also grip my round tater head.. -

Pretty cool you did a charter and did so well. Good for your boat crew to find them and to yer clients for getting the fish to the net. Did ya get a camera man? it would be kinda fun to watch,ya musta had a few OH Crap moments..

turn around and look............with outboard..after 1 or 2 times with yer boat you wont need one even with a I/O.....

the first pic is the 9th ,the second from the 6th along with the other advise this is a good visual of what a shift in wind can do to the water ..the pic from the 6th showes a good "set up" condition near the south shore,tight plume from niagra river and other streams...the 9 th is more spread out fish in "Dime Size Pods" ,temps change,bait spreads out,..........you can be sucessfull with either condition ,but i have always found a tight well defined flow along shore line (from outer space) makes for easy fishing..

I always had a 18 Inch Kayak Drift bag on my boat mine lasted over 10 years tho i didnt have to use it every trip and only cost about $12.00 us ... Rolls up nice for storage ..but im shure it saw over 100 hrs drag time..good bang for yer buck and it could save yer boat if ya loose power on a windy day tho i always carried a 36in drift bag for emergency.procedures

yer in my secret spot ...good number of nice fish,how much are worms now ? havent been there in 3 years...nuttin better than hot sunny ,calm days ..i see a little drippin from the males looks like this week the spawn will be hot. any pics of the castle . thanks ..

I had a 8hp honda with a 6 amp 90% of the time it would keep the main charged, but on dead calm days with low rpm's the output would fall behind of the load ..all i used was the side plug off the honda with 14 ga wire with a couple clips to hook to the main battery..ran a single battery for 15 years ....

duct tape.............. maybe ya could find another material a little more user friendly to wrap over what ya got sorta like the smaller "Channel" molding on the edge of fiberglass...
