  1. When I originally reviewed the plans when working for DEC Fisheries the existing ramp was to be replaced with 2 ramps. One on the west side up near turning point with parking for 12 cars/trailers. Another was to be built on the east side on the old footprint of Stutson Street bridge and again just a few parking places. Neither are built. Rochester the biggest city on the US side of Lake Ontario and facilities for boaters least to be desired. Last winter boaters could have got out all winter. Not only contact the mayor but also The Monroe County Fishing Advisory Board. I don't have a number for them but you can get it from DEC Regional Fish Manager Web Pearsall at 226 2466
  2. Beautiful!! There's only 2 fish that can better that one. A bigger steelie or a State record King. But I may be bias
  3. The record hot summer means more heat calories in the lake which produces more lake effect snow. Tune up your snow blowers or take a contract out for plowing
  4. Yeh, I like picking on Brian. Was out yesterday. Wind was tough to control inour small boat. Managed to get a mixed bag (3rt 2 chs 1bt) on with no set pattern.
  5. Pittsburg? Pittsburg? Oh Yeah! They are the team that Tebow beat.
  6. When I worked for DEC I seem to recall about 15 yrs or so ago Canada and the US states decided not to stock any new non native species in the Great Lakes drainage. It was about the same time that the west coast salmonids got a disease not prsent in the east. Thats why we no longer get eggs from the west coast. Whether that was the reason for not stocking stripers i can't remember. It may be also they do not want to put any more strain on the forage base
  7. You don't have to worry about the Rochester paper. The outdoor section is almost non existent for fishing and hunting. It was decent with Floyd King and went downhill since. I'm going to cancel the paper
  8. I'd still take a skin mount on that fish Jerry
  9. If I ever get my true trophy, a 20#+ steelhead I want a skin mount
  10. Yeah every fall I change the summer air in the tires for winter air
  11. And fishing and scouting for turkeys and deer. I don't have time to spend alot of time at the computer

  13. They are planning to close the ramp when they build the condos (for those who can afford) and dig out slips for rich out of towners for temp docking. They have put in a ramp and parking for another 10 cars and trailers on the west side up river at the turn around. Another ramp is suppose to go in on the east side in the foot print of the old Stutson St bridge with limited parking. They haven't started this one yet. I think there's problems with Voyagers. Alot of parking is goimng to lost at Charlotte but the city said they will have off site parking with shuttles for events. Now thats a real drawing card. Charlotte will never be the same. All in all the little guy gets screwed just so the city can get more tax base on the condos and slips

  15. Vinnie, I can't get used to Vincent, That was before DEC put in those Trout and salmon for alewife control. I thought those fish in your back packs were salmon not pike. Yes I have those blue ball tip ups. Doug and I were at Cranberry this morning jigging for perch. Nothing caught
  16. I remember shooting carp w/ the bow in the 60's at Russell's Station. The water level was about the same as it is today. Using concrete structures as my reference points. The sadest thing is that Russel's is closed. No warm discharge and no more fishing. People fished there every day of the year. Remember the commercial with the indian with a tear in his eye. Me too when I drive past there
  17. I know. Those hatchery people might know what fish is what when they are under 9 inches but it takes a real management person to ID big fish
  18. Nice bird. To be honest with ya I would rather turkey hunt than fish. Forget my handle and my past career. Did I just say that
  19. You doubting me? You hatchery guys can only ID trout if they're under 6 inches. Us management guys know the fish in all sizes

  21. My computer isn't the best in the world and the middle picture is very dark. Can't make out the face. The outline of the person looks like Brian and if it is I would put the sun behind him to darken his face
