I have had good luck with torpedo cable wire.
I am running it on an older Cannon Mag10. Did you peel the plastic of the inner copper wire before soldering?
I haven't lost signal and can reach down to 140 feet...haven't been any deeper than that.

DEC has scheduled a treatment for the Spring 2014. Hopefully there will be no flooding so they can eliminate both the 2007 and 2011 groups.
Very happy to hear this hope it goes well and don't go in the water haha

We fished out of Long Point both days. We fished in 100 to 200 fow managing many lakers and atlantics, however, nothing of any size. Our biggest was a laker around 4 1/2 pounds. It was a combination of spoons and flasher and flies. Majority of the hits on the spoons were ice frog, green alewife and nbk. Majority of flasher and fly hits were on the white green dot spin doctor and sweet pea fly.
There were a handful of lamprey's that went back in two halves! On Sunday, we had many lamprey attach themselves to our trim tabs and stern.
Over the past year and half, we have noticed that, at least for lakers, the size of the fish are smaller compared to prior years? Could this trend be the cause of lamprey's killing the bigger fish?
Enjoy the video!

Does anyone know day 1 standings?
We fished the long point area today and managed quite a few small lakers and atlantics..biggest to 3lbs. Also, sent several lamprey's back in two pieces. We had one suctioned to our trim tab! We fished in 100 to 160 fow. No pics...left camera in truck!
Thank you,
Ray

I fish the finger lakes religiously but this king fishing has really gotten a hold of me... Im thinking a couple weeks vacation and docking the boat up there next year.....
Awesome day even without the net! That's what happened to me....the big king itch! I dock the boat for a week in Oswego every August.

Do you happen to know when the shops close? Is it early like 5pm?
Sent from my DROIDX using Lake Ontario United mobile app
Here is a list of shops...all in walking distance on the main street.

I would say talk to (Hank) L&M Marine Repair on Port Bay he is the best and very trustworthy and Affordable and an all around great guy to deal with.
If you send him a PM he will Probably get back to you fast
I couldn't agree more!
-
So you agree the coupler is fine.....?
I agree with Big Dave...coupler would have no splines....yours appears to have splines. I hope you get this figured out sooner than later.
-
Nothing beats an ear to ear grin on a kids face as they are fighting a fish!
Congratulations!

I was trolling a few years ago and my coupler went... the coupler gears were gone, therefore, I could not limp in and it would not turn the outdrive, therefore instant overheating. Now, I have kicker motor on the boat!
-
Sounds like the prop hub, If it was the coupler the motor would heat up and you couldn't limp in.
Agreed....if it was the coupler, the motor would over heat and you would not have reached the dock without a tow.
