First time on Cayuga this friday

Going to try Cayuga for the first time ever on friday. Coming from the East about 2 and half hour drive. Can anyone tell me a good boat launch to launch from on the east side? I see long point has one but how is the fishing around there? Looking to catch Lakers and hopefully salmon. Trolling with only 3 dipsys.  Thanks I will share our results.

  2. Hey guys, I'm about doing some trolling on Skinny for the first time in several years are hoping someone can bring me up to date on what's working for rainbows ?

In the past I used small spoons with bright colors and Sutton 44's etc. I'm guessing speeds 2.0 - 2.2  etc.. any help would be appreciated. Gary (Grandpa fish-on

  4. My one grandson is home on leave from the Air Force for a week so we went over to Owasco Lake this morning to catch some lakers before his leave was up.

The boat launch had only 2 other rigs in it and that seemed odd to me on such a nice day. We trolled for 4 hours , marked a few lakers  and not one release, this has been the pattern for me all summer, Any ideas what's going on? Gary

  5. Alex, thanks for the reply, I feel like a pain in the butt asking so many questions, the last 4 years I've dealing with cancer and I now have a clean bill of health so it's now game on for Owasco fishing. I appreciate all the replies to my fishing questions from all you guys out there who have answered me. "Thanks" Gary

  6. I want to "thank" all of you for updates on Owasco Lake fishing reports, I've pretty much been out of the loop for the past 3-4 years but now it's game on.

I've broke out my F/F rigs and hoping someone can give a update as to colors , depth to run, how far back, etc.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Gary (Grandpa fish on)

  7. The Wife and I went over to Owasco lake last night to do some worming for pan fish and then a 1.5 hr. long slow ride from the north end south and back, I marked very Lakers  at any depth also not many bait pods.

We never saw a boat trolling for lakers, etc. Anyone have any ideas. Gary ( Grandpa fish on)

  8. I was over to Owasco Lake last night for a boat ride around the  entire lake and never saw one boat trolling for lakers, also marked very few fish on my fish finder. This seemed odd to me and I'm wondering if the  lakers have not started to move north or if any of you have any helpful info. Any info. would be appreciated. Gary {grandpa fish on)

  9. We trolled south from Owasco  boat launch on the east side going about 2/3 of the way down the lake and back to the launch site on the north end with not one rod taking a hit.

We did mark some fish 25' to 100'  down here and there but no takers. Can anyone tell me if they are getting any lakers on a regular basis or if me ? 11. Rusty & I Trolled the upper 2/3's of Owasco last week  as a front moved through with winds out of the NW and marked very few fish plus not one release, weather wise we should stayed home, does any one know if the lakers have moved up to the north half of Owasco yet? Any help would be appreciated.Gary

  12. I'm planning  to  take my Grandson over to Owasco Lake tomorrow  late afternoon and see if we can get him a Laker or two.

He's home on leave from the Air Force with a very short time off so tomorrow  is it.

I have not done any fishing in the last 2 years + due to some cancer issues (now behind me) and plan on staying on the north part of the lake with the usual hardware off the riggers.

Any advise would be appreciated, depth, colors, etc. Gary ( grandpa fishon)
