  1. Couldn’t help but think of this thread last weekend while watching an episode of “North Woods Law”. One of the story lines on the show involved the rescue of a bunch of red fox kits that were taken to a rehabilitation facility where they would be raised and eventually released into the wild.

    Text book irony.

  2. I was out there today. Got lures in the water around 11a, headed south. Did a lap around Sunken Island, and headed north.

Pulled rods and headed for the light house. Washed some lures between there and the high rocks in 18-40 fow.

    Never took a hit.

Water was mid- high 40s, and crystal clear.

Gonna try in the harbor tomorrow for some pike/pickerel action as I don’t see the conditions brown fishing getting any better for me.

I did not think that I would come back to this thread because it is so filled with prejudice and lack of knowledge. Anyway, here goes.

Oil prices were down very much because of over production in the tar sands of the Dakotas. Add to that the pandemic which depressed demand worldwide. In fact a lot of small oil companies specially the ones that produced oil from tar sands went belly up , although production in those areas is starting up again because oil on the world markets has risen above $80 per barrel

Demand is rising worldwide , but opec holds production down and the prices go up worldwide.

The oil prices in the USA are not independent from world oil prices. In fact the USA oil prices are the exact same as the world oil prices. If demand in China goes up, world oil prices go up and that includes USA oil prices at the gas station. There is no oil shortage in the USA, but big oil will sell to the American market at the world spot price rate which is decided in London and Rotterdam.

So please do not get dragged along by planted misinformation, because it just does not help you in any way.

Well said Rollmops. These folks that want to blame inflated gasoline prices on a single person haven’t taken the time to discover that the US exports oil. They are also the same people that are not complaining that the stock market is at an all time high. Can that be blamed on the same person ?  Double standard  ?

Anyone have a fishing report ?

  4. I had an issue with the Food Saver. It would vacuum, but not enough so that it got to the heat seal stage.

I determined it was due to residue on the lower foam pad. I replaced that, and it’s back to working great.

I was out on Thursday and went 6-7 in 2.5 hours and landed 2 browns. Weird as I’ve never caught a BT previously on skn.

15 years or more ago I was on a guided trip on Skaneateles  with John Gaulke.  At one point we were casting jigs near the high rocks on the southern half of the lake. I ended up catching a brown on that trip. He said it was a rare catch for that lake. I had never caught one there previously, and never caught another after that.
