  1. Tommy got it done with his bow this morning. I was in the blind till 830 but had to go to a meeting. Had an old hen in front of me for a half hour.
Tommy went to the blind after I left and the Tom’s came out a few minutes later.
He captured the whole thing on video but unfortunately it’s way too technical for me to upload lol. Frogger I sent you the video lol. IMG_2519.thumb.JPG.0e0c0f141388fb6bad609354c9e5ad86.JPG

  2.

Took advantage of the nice day an finally stated the trolling season. Started the am out trolling from the green can to the red can out of Fort Niagara hopeing to find a king, but only got lakers. When the Wind picked up we slid back into 10fow looking for browns an managed a nice one. Then finished the day with a few drifts in devils hole. Water had great color but was real cold anywhere from (33-34). Covered a lot of water today an really worked for the fish, but felt great to get out.

Good luck an tight lines to all.

  3. Mike an I met taking our captains course together an we studied an learned together as teammates. Since that time I’ve been blessed to be part of his family an crew. He is The only person I felt was my father, loved like a brother an was my best friend.

As our profession of sportsmen we develop a bond that is different from any others, as we depend on each other for safety, good times an memories, we shared a lot cheers n tears over the years together.

Rip my fellow captain, this loss truly hurts.

  4. Barely made it out alive yesterday as that storm set in by 2 pm in 8r slept in this morning let the storm roll through and let the plows get done .. stopped at marina earlier and loaded up with some blocks for weight didn’t know what to expect. The kid and I slid into a nice blind with heat till noon just two hrs then took a short walk and walked up on a nice doe browsing at 100 yards out we closed the gap by 25 ish yards and the kid made a great shot with dad’s muzzloader... 80 yards through a six inch window.. back at it in the morning hopefully see some horns. Good luck to all IMG_6597.thumb.JPG.80334349b8eacb01afcc15a3f8a5a71c.JPG IMG_6589.thumb.JPG.d28ca858bbba358da0214c5e5dd65c15.JPGIMG_6588.thumb.JPG.ead99a322666d3d22aa90d97aadccfdb.JPG

  5. Well my kid got it done this afternoon.
Long story, short he wasn't even planning on hunting this afternoon. Around 130 he was inquiring about hunting. I told him he had two stands he could hunt with this east wind. He ask me which stand would I hunt. I told him I would hunt the set I hunted this morning. The other stand choice you may see more deer but the other one your bound to see the right deer. And boy did he see the right deer. Just as he was approaching the stand he saw a doe pop up. He dropped to one knee and then he noticed there were five bucks all around her. He picked out the biggest and let it fly.
Proud dad moment for sure. His biggest to date.

  6. Congratulations to all with your recent harvest. Got my opportunity yesterday while leaving my hunting spot. Spotted a buck that had a doe pinned down in the golden rod while walking out. Put the wind in my favor and started the stalk. While crawling on my belly I would stop every few yards to check his location. 150 yards and one hour later I put an arrow in the sweet spot. Not my biggest but Definitely my most deserving and hardest earned deer!! 62707142497__0046D515-0646-4622-BDBF-01AC6A4F9B3F.thumb.JPG.e875d44cc53e0ee7440922eae7a9ee6c.JPGIMG_3356.thumb.JPG.f5935ec27685f5c3b6a99bbd01e14822.JPG

  7. I drew a moose tag in Maine for last week in zone 8. My 16 year old son was my subpermitee. On Tuesday morning we killed a 36 inch wide, 704 pound bull. We had the best time together. This was our 3rd trip together and I wouldn't trade trade these experiences for the world. I have been fortunate enough to take many trips with my dad and want to show my son other opportunities that are available outside New York. The outfitter was first class and would recommend him to anyone.

  8. Well I blew my wadd like a teenager at prom night last night.  I told myself 130" or bust this year i put in a ton of work over the summer and was willing to be patient but that all went to **** when I hit the release on my second hunt.

I slipped in on an oak flat and not even 30 mins later I have a nice buck come in slow i get a look at him and its a 2.5 8pt he walks by at 10yds and I take a few pix then I see a big body dark rack run in I have 0 time to judge him and know I had one chance to stop him and and shot or he's gone... and I'm my experience I don't get second chance at mature deer.  I give him a bahh  he stops I pull back and try to get a good look but his head was in the leafs all I could see is dark tips and a big body and one step from being gone.  Well my itchy finger hit the switch while the war was going on in my head..  he ran 40 and tipped over on my 4x4 trail.  To say I was a bit baffled when I walked up was an understatement. The kids thought it was great they don't know the difference between a 115" and 130" that ment more to me then meeting my goal.

  9. Both my kids have the Bear cruzer an cruzer lite. My son has been shooting his since he was 9 an took his first deer with it at 12. My daughter got hers two years ago as well. The bows are flat out accurate, quiet, easy to shoot an adjust for them as they grow. Any adjustments can be made with an Allen wrench an come in all sorts of colors. Absolutely love their set ups an can’t beat the price point too.

  10. Well she was 10 yards from where I lost blood and she laid down so neatly there was no white belly. Found her in 3 minutes in the daylight. I went double lunged through the bottom and cut the major heart artery. Barely any freaking blood and she acted like nothing happened. Absolutely wild. Not a great look for my Magnus Stingers which I am using for the first time. Amazing pass through, but where is the blood!!!! Anyway happy that one less matriarch is off of this doe circus.

  12. It has been shaping up to be a memorable year, got to watch my boy get his first turkey an now his 1st bow kill. Been putting a TON of time in practicing, scouting an sets, so when this deer came in all I did was sit back an watch him make his own choices on what to do. An he got the job done.! Couldn’t think of a better way to spend opening day then sharing a hunt with my son. IMG_0707.JPGIMG_0713.JPG_0730.JPG]
