  1. Absolutely, with one caveat... properly sized to maintain steerage/headway in rough conditions, ie, an auxillary motor/power. "Kickers" are often undersized without the power to get you in to safety.
  2. This may work... https://cloud.3dissue.com/129417/129610/151833/NYSConsMagAprMay24/index.html
  3. " In recent days, consumer protection agencies have warned about an increase in counterfeit eclipse glasses. At least one factory in China has been identified as producing counterfeit glasses printed with the name and address of a legitimate factory, so it can be difficult to know whether what you’re getting is legitimate. " https://www.whec.com/investigations/news-10nbc-investigates-amazon-warning-customers-about-questionable-eclipse-glasses/
  4. " It's a great way to start the spring fishing season. I'm guessing with the weather we've been having, you've all been out a few times already! " Question: who keeps turning the webcam at Seager Marine AWAY from the normal lake view this time of year. Very frustrating to have a useful view of lake conditions be changed to a meaningless image. Seems to be done with intent...
  5. “ Residents should not be concerned about sewage discharge into Genesee “.... into the Genesee AND the canal. Uh, OK ?!? https://www.whec.com/top-news/monroe-county-residents-should-not-be-concerned-about-sewage-discharge-into-genesee/
  6. " Another alert was sent around 8:45 a.m. Saturday, stating the sewage discharge continued to flow. Since it had been flowing for 12.5 hours, that’s an estimated 750,000 gallons of sewage discharged dumped into the Genesee River. " Supposed updates coming... seems like a great disparity in sewage dump estimates/reports https://www.whec.com/top-news/rain-heavy-snow-melt-leads-to-estimated-750000-gallons-of-sewage-discharge-dumped-into-genesee-river/
  7. I'm not a hunter, but I know that "contolled hunts" have been conducted in the Town of Irondequoit, very urban area adjoining the City of Rochester. Controlled => designated area(s), specific days, times, bow only. https://spectrumlocalnews.com/nys/rochester/news/2023/10/24/bow-hunt-helps-control-irondequoit-s-deer-population#:~:text=Since 1996%2C Irondequoit has run,There are strict guidelines.

  10. I believe you are quite mistaken... the DEC Region 8 forage assessment (year 2019) for Hemlock Lake indicated that alewives were by far the most abundant forage available: https://www.dec.ny.gov/docs/fish_marine_pdf/tb8hemlocklake18.pdf
  11. Just saw a FB post by a member of the FLTA (Finger Lakes Troller Assoc) that he caught an 8lb10oz walleye in Keuka a couple weeks back. As Sk8man outlined, for gobies to be present in Canandaigua it would require their "introduction" to the lake similar to the "introduction" of alewives to Conesus Lake. And we all know how that affected the fishery. It's always aggravating to know there are fishing "sportsmen" who believe they are wiser than the DEC fisheries management professionals.
  12. In the most recent DEC assessment of Canandaigua Lake forage that I've seen (2019), alewives made up 93% of the catch. To the best of my knowledge, gobies are currently not present in Canandaigua. https://www.dec.ny.gov/docs/fish_marine_pdf/tb8canandaigualk18f.pdf
