  1. Can anyone living up in Olcott give me an update on travel restrictions?  I want to head up Memorial weekend.  All I can find is follow CDC guidelines which doesn't state that travel is restricted just to plan your trip properly.  We are coming from Ohio.  Thanks

  2. Came up from Ohio to fish Olcott this past weekend. Saturday was a little bumpy...we started off in 200’ and worked out to 450’. We got one 18 pounder in 250’ on rigger 55 down with orange spoon. Also a couple shakers and smaller steelhead on meat. Nothing on flies for us.

Sunday we got 3 nice ones.  A 24 an 18 and 15. They were all on spin doc and no see um fly. Dipsy 3 setting 200 back. One 10 pound steel down 100. We stayed inside this time from Olcott to the microwave. Fished 100-130’. Best was right in front of microwave. Nothing on meat.  We did have a few hits that came unbuttoned.

Monday we fished same spot as Sunday. Lost one out of the gate but then landed a 30 pounder good enough for 8th place in the loc. That was on meat rig down 77. We had a few hits on flys today but they came off. We got one other on the same meat rig smaller but he ran right into the kicker prop and chopped himself up.

Not it bad considering the wind was every direction the past few days

  3. Sad for all involved and prayers to the families. I do have a question if anyone can answer. I fish lake o several times a year and I know boat traffic especially that far out is sometimes few and far between.  My question is how did anyone know to look for them?  It seems like it happened so quickly,  were they able to get a distress call out?  In windy and wavey conditions it's hard enough to spot anybody in the water.

  4. I have a 23' Proline.  Paid $18k us for it. I take it out in swells and pretty much anything 6' under. Now typically I won't go out it 6' but if it comes up I feel ok about it. The main thing is make sure your engine is well maintained and have backup to the backup Saftey gear and u should be fine. I have fished Lake Erie most of my life with a 20' boat and if u take it easy and don't drive like a manic u can do most days. I always try to plan where I'm fishing. If it's let say a good east or north east wind I will typically run east out of port so I can tell back with the waves in case I get in a pickle.  That's just me though.

  5. The trailer I bought from Texas a few years ago and I have a title for it from there and a bill of sale to me. In Ohio we don't need a title for a trailer so basically I would just give u a bill of sale probably notarized and then u should be able to get one from your state. Best to call your motor vehicle place see what u would need. I have bought stuff from out of my state and that's the process I used.

  6. I have a 2001 magic tilt aluminum trailer for sale. It has new bearings as of last year, vortex hubs on the non brake axle, disc brakes, new leaf springs last year, newer winch, 2 spare tires, 2 new axles last year and led lights. I basically replaced the suspension last summer and also used all stainless hardware on the stuff I replaced. It's has a 6000 pound gvwr.  $1800 obo. It's located in Cleveland Ohio but I can also meet halfway as long as it's reasonable. The tires have good tread left.
