    SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS Hey Sandy guys. I'm gonna try it tommorrow am, is there much going on? I'll probably hang around 100 feet and see if anything is happening. Thanx if anyone has any ideas where to start.

    ====================

    (add pictures and any other details not captured above here)

  2. Just a heads up guys. Cabelas has the DM2's on sale for 25 Bucks. I needed a new reel and figured I would try one. In a past post someone was saying they had good luck with them. There is a 60 day no hassle return policy if I don't like it. I'll let ya know how I make out with it.

  3. Shirley my thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family. I just wanted to say that in the Mid 80's I was working with the Buckaroo on his boat and I'll always rember Joe putting the new secret Pirates in a blown up garbage bag, and drop it into the lake and then we would troll by and pick them up. Those were the only spoons we used back then and boy did they put a bunch of fish into the boat. More recently I always read At the Oak and I have learned many new ways to catch fish. Thank you.

  4. Fished Long Pond for a half hour b4 dark and not a lot going on although one guy said they got into them earlier. I did well on garbage however filling 2 Wegmans bags. The littering has begun. :@:@

  5. Years Ago on Buck Pond in Greece we were fishing for Pike with tip ups and my friend had one going. We all walked over to watch him bring the fish in when instead of a pike it was a Muskrat. We all jumped backwards at first and then proceeded to laugh our A_ _ _ _ off. One of the guys with us was a trapper and whacked em on the head with a ice skimmer. I'll never forget that day. :D:D:D

  6. Hey Wolfman if it makes ya feel any better we caught the 11th place fish that was tied with yours but we caught it on the last day. When we go out we never keep any so we just fish with no cooler. We got our fish and ran straight in but it was close to an hour b4 we got it weighed. I stopped and grabbed a bag of ice but I wonder how much it lost while sitting in the bottom of the boat with no cooler. This was my first derby money fish also. Congrats on making the board. Maybe next year there will be a lil more money and we will have a cooler with lots of ice.

  7. LTT and I headed out first thing this morning and tried in front of the river for about an hour with no hook ups, marked some fish and bait. Pulled up and set Divers and a 10 core out in about 60 feet. We got two Kings 24 and 14 Lbs and had a hard hit on a silver prism echip with Mirage fly that bent the swivel and went byby. Have to get some better swivels. The 2 Kings we got were caught on 42 Spin Doctor, 120 #2 on the wire. Pulled em at 10:00. Great morning to be out, other boats that were fishing were mostly out deep. Won't be out again for a few days. Brian

  8. Well, after having my boat in the shop for a week and having some other things to do on the weekend, we finally made it out for the last day of the Derby. I decided to go out of Braddocks cause I figured there would be less boat traffic than Sandy. We started a lil west of the point in about 70 feet of water and fished toward 100 ft. I just put on a new depthfinder and what a difference from my old one. We were marking good bait and some fish mostly 70 ft and down. About 8:00 Keith was letting out the lead core when the Dipsey rod fired. I tried to hand him the rod of course but he said take it. The fish took a couple short runs and then was hanging on the surface acting like a smaller fish. When we got it to the net and on to the boat it was a lot bigger. I said were running in. I weighed it on my scale and it was between 32 and 33 pounds. We were all by ourselves out there, there wasn't a boat within 2 miles.

    We got to Mitchells a little after nine and it weighed 31 pounds 14 ozs.At the time it was tied for 11th. It is now tied for Tenth. The bummer is that there is no fish of the day on the last day, but it was great to make the board. We then went back out to the same area and got into another one that put up a great fight and I thought we had another one for the board. Keith was pretty tired out when he got it to net and it was a lil under 20 pounds. We then called it a day cause it was a lil after 12:00. The first fish took a echip flasher that was blue with white glow with a siver black Attomic Fly. The second fish was on the homemade spindoctor 42nd flasher. Both were on Dipseys. Thanx to Keith, LT Trollers son for coming out with me. His Dad had to work. Keith won't let him forget about that. Will try to get out again later this week. :D:D:D
