  1. Nice report jessie. Try downsizing your line and add a flourocarbon leader. We normally run 8 - 10 lb test with 8 lb flourocarbon leaders for fingerlakes trout and salmon off our boards in winter and spring. Should generate more strikes for you. Good luck and tight lines

  2. thanks for the Severne recommendation. We contemplated that choice, but the South Winds were a little strong for the 14ft 'lil boat'. There were whitecaps 6 miles down the lake on Thursday AM early.

Lots of large ice chunks blocking the launch at the village marina out to a good 100ft when we got there around 10am :(

Would have like to fish the Seneca South end after seeing those glowing reports. maybe a Sunday trip for us also.

Good luck and tightlines this weekend if ya get out.

  3. Was fortunate to take a day off for some fishing this AM off of Taugannok with fishin buddy (Craig).

In a nutshell - awesome day - numbers wise - all sizes. Started off the park and for the 1st couple hours - could not get the 4th rod set as we received multiple hits on stickbaits and spoons. little boards and 3 color cores were firing. Mostly salmon and about 6 browns. Did not matter what color you had out, it would get kissed although Greens and Oranges were constant producers for us.

If ya get the chance , get out there and enjoy some great action, Cayuga has to offer.

    Tight lines!

  4. Thanks gentlemen for the support.

WOW, Very nice. & great clean kill shot. Did he run far or just crash?

    Jerry

'RR' Jerry "Classic Mule Kick" when I hit the deer. He even ran about 40 yards after being shot thru vitals and even piercing the heart.

Ray - Always nice to get them in that close to where I can even hit them. I too have noticed lots of bigger buck activity later in the am in that 9-11 window.

We are so spoiled here in upstate NY with all the great fishing and hunting opportunities.

Good luck to all with the rest of your season!

  5. Luckily in the 'Right Spot Right Time' today for me. Heavy south winds made for my partner's north and nw stand placements ideal for the conditions. Few does spotted early in the am. Then around 9am my partner spots this big boy's antlers moving though the brush 100 yds away heading in my direction. Luckily he stayed south of me, and then turn towards the stand I was in about 40 yards away. He slowly closed the distance and at 10 yards gave me a great opportunity to take my personal best.
