looking at the picture..... the flat metal plate mounts to the front of the motor. (I mounted it to the carry handle)...the plate has a ball where the ram attaches with a quick connect........ the other end of the ram has a ss stem that mounts to the clear lexan mount...to remove the ram, disconnect at the motor using quick connect....lift the stem from the mount.....unscrerw the power lead

you cannot enter a course,, but it will steer to what heading you're on when you engage the unit by pressing the auto button.... the helm unit determines a deviation in course and automatically makes the needed adjustment by operation of the ram which is connected to the kicker

https://www.manualslib.com/manual/313947/Raymarine-Autohelm-2000.html Raymarine Autohelm 2000...linear autopilot with wired remote....This is configured for use with a auxillary trolling motor...includes mounting bracket to kicker, quick disconnect and storage bag
Control unit mounts at the helm, has standby and auto function.... able to override and control kicker by One degree or Ten degrees Port or Starboard with push of button
Wired remote has the same function as the helm unit but allows for course correction at the back of the boat
I used this on my 19 Starcraft Islander with a 9.9 Yamaha....no longer have the boat so I'm selling....works perfectly, I can demo all functions..I live in Scotia, NY (capital district)...

I put the Torpedo roller tips on my Dipsey rods last year. They swivel about 270 degrees and have a built in guide to keep the wire in the center of the roller. Very well made...... If you install them, make sure before you glue them in place you position them so they swivel to each side evenly
You can try GENTLY applying heat from a candle to loosen the glue on the existing tip, if that dosen't work, or if you "melt" the blank inside the old tip, cut off the old tip with a fine blade hacksaw, roughen the area where the new tip will go and epoxy the new ones on

Are the Accu Depth reels the newer AD+ ? If they are, and you like them, you could;
Put 1000' of 30# wire on 2 of the 47's for dipsey use
Put a short section of leadcore on each of the other AD47's ( EG; 2, 4 color ). Use a braid like 50# Power Pro as backer. These can be good off boards for browns and steelies.(Tie in 50' of mono between the core and the braid to clip the release on)
Buy two AD+ 57's, Load them close to full with 20-25# mono. use these on your riggers, when the fleas show up strip off 300' and use a blood knot to fill it with 30# mono
Buy two AD+ 27's , load them with 15# mono/ leader down for boards, flat lines or clean spoons of your riggers.
use what rods you have and fill in what you don't
I bought a bunch of the Accu Depth + reels 4-5 years ago planning to upgrade when I could afford to. I'm still using all but one, they work for me
I second the advise to attend the seminar at Gander,

This will be year #3 using the same 200# Mono on my planer reels... when I think about it I spray it with Blakely "Reel Magic" (or WD40)...the releases run out smoothly....I use Otterboats with double keels...I like the slight amount of stretch
I was warned that the mono can "tighten" on itself under the load and crack the spool.... because of this I wound on some old Dacron I had from icefishing( about 1/2" thick) before I loaded the mono........ ("knock on wood") I haven't had any problems
I know another guy who has 5 yrs on his mono line...still no problems
