  1. Need a little help regarding regulations fishing on lake Ontario. I have some friends Quebec residents that are planning fishing next April and they will rent a cottage for 5 days and they are wondering if they are allowed to keep 5 days limit or only 1 limit for the entire week?

  2. Soft Reset HDS units
    (does not delete user data)
    --turn unit OFF
--press and hold the PAGES button
--press and release the LIGHT/POWER button
--release all buttons when the USA map appears

    Hard Reset HDS units
(deletes stored user data such as waypoints and trails) Back up your files to a SD card first!

    --turn unit OFF
--press and hold both the ZIN and ZOUT buttons
--press and release the LIGHT/POWER button
--release all buttons when the USA map appears

  3. the cheapest solution will be repositioning your Garmin transducer so it could work properly but if you choose going to another route then you can get a regular 83/200 with the 9 pins connector part # 00014884001 and you can stick it on the hull. You need to pick the best location. I may have the how to somewhere, I will look at my files here at the camp but I have more chances at home.

There is a excellent transducer for your kind of fishing ut it's a transom mount and maybe to expensive: TM-150M part #: 000-13944-001

Good stuff! I have the platinum plus card in my HB, along side my Lakemaster, but I have never updated it. Might have to take a look at that.

When you update just check: shaded relief and you need to put the 4 pins over the lake; sometimes you don't see those pins it depends on how you zoom in or out

  5. Do you like to fish with stick bait but don't like it when it gets stuck in the net while risking hurting yourself?

There is a chart from VMC that indicates what size of single hooks can be used without changing the action of the lure.

    See the photo.
