The Elite9 Chirp comes with a 83/200/455/800 or a 50/200/455/800.
For the inland water the 83/200/455/800 is perfect and you will be able to "Chirp" at Meium and High frequency. That $300 rebate is excellent and you will be getting a super unit.
Ther model# you need is: 000-12181-001
Great infos right here: http://www.lowrance.com/en-US/Products/Fishfinder-Chartplotter/Elite-9-CHIRP-en-us.aspx
There is a lot of improvements on the Elite series with the software version 4.0 so be sure youre running the latest version. It will be on the bx cover. If not do yourself a favor and install it.

There were covers included with the boat for the riggers so I might have to use them.
Just wondered if the lids were supposed to stay down and lock into place.
Never had that problem with my Scotty

If you own a card from another company you can use a Navionics Update card to get a Navionics+ card. This is place since March 2015
The only difference between using a Navionics Update card with a older Navionics card version is: you can use any other brands that are list on my 1st post and you will be ending with a Navionics+ and you are still own you're Bluechart or Insight or wathever.
Same process describe on this link except you can also use other brands:
Navionics Updates | Navionics

As stated on the Fishhawk doc there is no problem when using 200khz but on 83 it's very close to the 83. As I write on my post the Humminbird unit always transmit both frequencies so it is more likely that you will see some interference.
My friend (a charter guide on LO has change is Hb to a Lowrance because of this.

One of the good thing about Lowrance is the fact that you can choose between 83 & 200 khz. The X4 I think is close to the 80khz so when using the 200khz you don't have any problem running the X4; I do and I don't have any problem with interference.
On the other side if you are running a Humminbird it is more prone to get interference because the unit always transmit both frequencies even if you choose the 200 it still transmit the 83 frequecie.

Sick today so I didn't read youre post correctly. The card that are part of a bundle contain all the US & Canada but without the SonarCharts. To get the SonarCharts you need to go on Navionics website, creat an account and download the region you want to fish. For a period of 1 year you can get all the new things taht are uploaded by other users, it's call Freshest Data. After a year you can renew youre update for another year for $99.
The card size is 2gig and a Platinium is 16Gig
-
SonarCharts are on the Navionics+ and on the Platinium. I don't know much about Raymarine but on a Lowrance or a HB you need to activate a function name: FishNchip.
Not all the units can run that function. See the compatibility doc. on the Raymarine website (bottom right)
If youre unit can read the sonarchart you can purchase the Navionics Update and use the older card to unlock and the update will become a Nav+ then you download the region or lakes you are fishing.
The Update sale for $99

I have been trying to get one all winter they are being made in the 51st state and either cant get them right or are not paying off the drug cartels to let the trucks over the border
They just came out

Works with a HDS Gen2 and Gen3
They do have a hydraulic and a cable steer. The cable steer run for around 1800$ (I think)

The Airmar TM-150 build for the Lowrance is the way to go accordingly to some testers. THat's the one I will get for my next Touch3

You got a a 2D and downscan transducer
the 50/200 is the regular 2D transducer and habitually the 50/200 is use in deep water; deep water meaning +300ft. The 50 is a larger cone and the 200 use a narrower cone.
The 455/800 is for downscan. The 800 is to be use in shallower water. Those frequencies are excellent to identified what is under the boat, it's mainly to identifie bottom and structure. You can also see the baits but the fish are going to be small dots on the screen.
With the Elite you can split the screen in 3 so you can use Downscan,2D in 50 and 200kHz.

Same as the Simrad. Navico owns Simrad & Lowrance
I'm using Lowrance since 1975 and never had any problem.
Many mooving parts?: a pump and a box (computer) 2 wires for the power+ & - and a NMEA 2000 connection
I run 2 Raymarien AP and didn't like them (not easy to set-up) and the last one couldn't be use for trolling nelow 2mph and when I call Ray they say that's the way it works.
-
For my part I'm going with the new hydraulic AP from Lowrance. The integration through the 2000 NMEA will make the installation easy. The other complain when we are talking about AP is the slow trolling problem; the ap workd in conjunction with the gps and the gps need some speed to work properly but with the Lowrance Point-1 (Point-1 is a electronic and also a compass antenna) that will give a better operation at slow speed.
