  1. Thanks. .....that's what we'll try. ....just like the old days. ....not too optimistic though lol

  2. I know this topic has been gone over a quite a few times in the past, but, anyone have any info or hints on where to find smallies coming out of Ibay. Was going to give it try this afternoon. I know its not quite as easy as it used to be.

  3. Glad you at least got one! I know they are out there. They keep saying numbers are up but they have definitely changed. I'm figuring with the clearer water and different food source (gobies), that they must me much more attached to structure than they were in years past. Unfortunately the Rochester shoreline line has little.

  4. I've heard they are getting them 10-15 FOW here and there in that neck of the woods. I cannot confirm this although I did spot quite a few while fishing the Webster lake shore in that depth range. I was unable however to induce any strikes.

  5. For giggles I took my father out to hedges for old times sake. If nothing else it was fun just talking about how much fun it used to be to fish out there. Well we didn't land any smallies but a 13lb brown took a crankbait in 8FOW which made for an interesting fight on bass tackle!

  6. Caught a few 8-11 inchers in june off of hamlin........I took it as a good sign there is still some reproduction happening! The lunkers are sure out there.......I still target them and get them here and there.....I'd rather catch a few big smallies than largemouth anyday...just my preference.... I sure miss limiting out in a hour or two at hedges though! Sure wonder if dumping a few million mature fish in the big O would knock down the gobies...good thought!

  7. Took the kids out Sunday in the light rain...got on the water and realized I forgot my tackle boxes.....nice...welll had enough hooks and split shots in the glove box to get a few lines out for the kids with night crawlers...just drifted the west side of the bay 15-25 fow and picked up a gazillion panfish and a few nice large mouth..... biggest problem i see in the bay is the boat traffic on the weekends

  8. Just got into a fiberglass boat.......what the best way to run a tranducer cable through the hull..ie molded swim platform...The plug is about 1/2" and really don't want to drill a hole that big and really don't want to try to cut and splice it...also what is the best way to seal the hole once its made?

  9. I hope to get out an evening this weekend and give it a shot....been a few years but I have the itch...so gonna have to find out for myself because if they are getting them there sure isn't much talk about it.....figure on starting 25fow and working out from there....

  10. I've gotten quite a few near the pillars of the bridge on the west side at first light bass fishing....have had the same hunch about em' comming in from the lake. Anyone have any idea locally where you can get them in the lake?

  11. Thats great.....nice catch! Thats really good to hear that they are around. Did anybody have any luck last season. To my understanding guys where going down 60 + to get them. Used to be 30 was tops. We'd go find them 18-30' in front of hedges...drift bass minows and nail them one after another. I hear thats not the case anymore so spent the past few years targeting largemouth. But damn I sure miss those smallies.

  12. Just curious on everyones take on Lake O's smallmouth fishery....Will it rebound this year or are the days of limiting out in a couple hours at hedges gone forever?

  13. Well didn't bother with the lake b/c of lack of reports so went with the I bay. Spent the morning on the West side of the bay and the Largemouth bite was on. Landed 15 or so most over 12 " with one big Northern. Good day. Wind picked up and hampered our afternon on the East side. Overall good day.

  14. Going to try and chase some smallies Wensday, any ideas around Rochester, be tough to fish em in the Lake, keep hearing they are 70' down :( Damn I miss Hedges.
