  1. Thanks for the tip, I appreciate it! Sent from my SM-G781V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  2. Nice fish! Heading up to Clayton area all next week. Would you mind sharing roughly what depth we should start looking for smallmouth this time of year? We're normally only there once a year in mid-July. Thanks!
  3. On the water by 7. Trolled east to Hedges and back. Only 2 hits, with 1 brown. About 20 fow. Always a good time regardless of the numbers.
  4. I just checked the picture date to verify, we caught about an 8 pound brown in I-Bay while pike fishing on May 21st a few years ago. Can't remember what it hit but it was a surprise.
  5. I just thought it would be fun to see if it works! Sent from my XT1585 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  6. Old Fish Hawk Help My neighbor gave me an old Fish Hawk Thermo Troll temp unit with probe but I absolutely cannot find any info about it or a manual on how to use it. Is this a wireless unit and if so it looks like I'm missing an antenna or some other component on the back side? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
  7. There's a launch on the west side of the bay- East Bay Rd basically runs right into the bay and you could launch there. The only problem is there's no dock and no public parking. Now with a small boat you can drag, there's a small fishing access site near where E. Bay Rd and Garner Rd. come together. You could park there and drag the boat to the water and follow the channel into the main bay. Search 7681 E Bay Rd. Wolcott, NY and use street view to see the area I'm thinking of. It's the mowed area to the north.
  8. 6 for 6 on browns east of the bay. All inside 40, 3 color cores are the hot ticket. Sent from my SM-G900V using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  9. YES!--Haha...I see where you're going with that!
  10. You certainly can't base anything on last year. I was just looking at pics from last year and we picked up a 28lb king off Sodus on April 28, 2012.
  11. We fished for a few hours Saturday morning off the pier with about 15 other boats. We had two releases but nobody home. Washed J-Plugs and mag spoons. It was too rough to go off shore so we just stuck it out off the piers. We only saw a couple other hook-ups. The excitement for the day came from a big tug and barge that literallly drove up our rear. We were at least a quarter mile off the pier heads on a northerly troll trying the outskirts of the river plume. Our spoons were probably under the barge at one point, it got that close. We basically had to turn and run from it. They were going out deeper to dump soil. Needless to say, I didn't appreciate it. Here's a couple pics I took after we got out of its way.
  12. 19.5 ft SeaNymph GLS- the channel is open, you just have to enter and exit by hugging the east shore. The channel itself is 3-6ft deep, unfortunately the lake in front of the channel is only 1.5-2 ft deep.

First time out this month. We hit the first king (10lbs) down 60 over 90 before we had all the lines in. Picked up a small steelie down 50 over 120 on a yellow spoon. Marked some bait and hooks up in the 20-40ft range but no takers. Slid out a little deeper and picked up two, 18 and a 19 lbs. Both came on wire out 225 over 215ft. Wonder Bread Spin Doc w/ Mt. Dew fly. Not bad for our crew.
  14. The East Bay channel is not open all year. The DEC requires it be closed in the fall to prevent the draining of the wetlands south of the bay. It's kind of a waste though, since mother nature opens and closes the channel several times throughout the winter and spring. I've taken my 19' SeaNymph through it this year and it hasn't been dredged yet. The channel will, however, be closed in early June for the application of weed treatment, then dredged for the season.
