  1. Some food for thought: I don't want to start a war here ( I myself have a 17' with  a medium sized 4 stroke main and 4 stroke kicker) but the reason that more and more boats are sold with OBs is that an OB propulsion system is the cheapest to manufacture- that's always why there is any trend towards any technology in a market driven economy (business's don't do anything because it's better for you). It is also worth considering that Outboards for the most part do not last as long as an I/O, and the rebuild cost of an OB is 2  times the cost of an I/O rebuild. OBs also have a statistically higher rate of head related failures - something I have personally seen in the units owned by 3 close friends w/ larger, high powered OBs.

Can not agree I am running a 135 Honda with 2940 hours purrs like a kitten Many years I use it all 12 months of the year(don’t see many if anyFrostbite fleet iOS) and last bit least an outboard is no problem to net off as you can wrap your knees around and lay right on top to net a fish besides I can troll all day on my outboard for a 20 dollar bill I can’t see an up doing that also the newer 4 strokes are offering electronic throttle control in 50 rpm increments how much better speed control can one ask for

  2. Tried to correct and it sent the second keel I made corrected the sinking problem but depending on wind direction 1/4 ering from behind you and big waves I too have seen them dive usually though if you change the outside copper to be not so close to otterboat you can correct this

  3. I have run otterboats for 8 yrs I have learned a lot about 4 yrs ago I bought a second weighted keel set so I could pull coppers well let me tell you 2 weighted keels and a mmbroken planet board line equals a sunken planer board so I made my own keels with 1/8" aluminum

  5. Going to try to jig them tomorrow. The deepest hole in the lake is right off the point from where I am staying. The tiny spot to the south that the locals are working is the size of a postage stamp. With charters in there I have stayed away.

Anthony's nose and Rogers rock. Org drop into 100 + fow what you see out of water continues down across lake from you is Rogers rock state park just south of slide sw off the beach is a big mud bowl 60 dropping to 100+ If you can find it it would be starting point with a white tube jig if you can tip it with a piece of perch from a fish l perch or to along the shoreline all the much better you have a light wind out of west tomorrow 2-3 knots should give you a good drift from 60 foe out to deeper water to bounce/lift jog and pickup a laker or two

  6. The difference in speed when a line is clipped or released should not have anything to do with interference. It does work good just not great, I expected quick updates. I believe the angle of pull on the downrigger cable clipping lines tightly have something to do with the angle of paddle wheel reading speed differently. An entire .7-1 mph difference with line clipped and not clipped. I should edit my post the unit works good, interference is no issue, just the problem with running lines and not running lines off downrigger clip.

I am with you I just installed x4d on my boat last year but have not removed my Depth raider yet and probably never will the readings are much more stable and updated if that makes sense over the fishhawk Plus it's nice to keep track of top and bottom of temp break
