I decided to take yesterday off with the temperature swing and it paid off. Bucks were running everywhere, does were moving, just a really fun hunt. This buck came running to the base of my tree from my grunt call at 1 pm. He ran about 45 yards and piled over and another buck came under my tree again and stuck around for a couple minutes sniffing my buck. The rut is here!

2020 Rescue Buck, yes Rescue Buck. After having an amazing season and passing every 2.5 year old in the woods and some close calls with some Big ones I had my #1 Hit List Buck 70 yards from my stand today on a Doe. Well after watching them for an hour and not being able to call to them due to 2 smaller Bucks bedding closer to me, they moved on. As the morning went on I had some decent 2.5 year olds come through and a few Does. At 11am I see this Buck come from my thick side and on a direct line right behind my tree. He was a good Buck with 75% of an arrow sticking out above his back leg. I knew he was mature and the injury at the hands of another sealed the deal. Shot him at 10 yards and he only went 30. Stood there for a minute and crashed to the ground dead. I am Happy with him especially because of the Injury. That arrow was through his back and down through and out of his stomach just grazing his gut. I know good hunters can make bad shots but it wasn't fun to see. Happy he had a quick death instead of suffering. My Boy Aiden is holding him! emoji106.pngemoji1018.pngemoji1662.png(Text copied from FB page)PXL_20201108_154053993.jpegPXL_20201108_162239313.jpegPXL_20201108_154108753.jpegPXL_20201108_162309755.jpegPXL_20201108_162321958.jpeg

I showed my brother yesterday on a map, a good pinch point to scout on state land. With wind and rain in forecast he decided to leave his climber home and use today as a scouting mission.  Luckily he took his bow. After confirming my suspicions about the area with many deer trails and scrapes, my brother sat down on a log to text me excitedly.  In mid-text, a ten pointer walks by him, glances twice at him then continues on to check his scrape. My brother arrowed him at 8 yards. He is a 6x4.

Dang!! By himself? I got an ozonics to try. Had one day deer didnt feel comfortable, one blew. Just enough swirling winds. So figured I'd give this thing a try... Yesterday was 1st day with it and had deer downwind. That should of smelled me and didnt. But I'll keep trying it before i say yay or nay on it.

Took this buck yesterday with the grunt tube, he was by me headed away at 30 yds, I hit the grunt about 6 times, he stopped and stared me down, we were eye level. Every time he looked away I grunted softly a couple toots, he reversed and started raking the tree over his head, then worked a scrape below him, that’s when I finally grabbed my bow, quartered to me I hit him inside the near shoulder, went 100 yds. I was rattling and grunting previous to him showing up. Good luck!

I just got my 2019  archery buck back as well. Made a pedestal for it out of an old fence post and some other materials for the base. Came out really nice!

Funny you say that as there were 3 trailers in the lot when I got there and I passed 2 boats on the East side early on then didn't see anyone until I went back to the dock.  By then easily 15 rigs there.  I'm guessing you all went to the South end??  Anybody find Browns?

What size Bay rats you using? They are a great lure
