    Labor day weekend in Fairhaven we saw a King doing the same thing. Could not believe what we were seeing!

    Most fish we marked were right on the bottom today and they were active. Lots of streaks through the downriggers and lots of knock offs. Broke a nice fish off on the rigger and lost a screamer on the wire. The fish on the wire made a nasty 100 foot run, settled down for a bit and made another 100 foot run, then he got serious and headed North! Temp was all mixed up. Ended up boating a huge small mouth and small coho. Our first smallmouth on a flasher fly! We fished the 100 to 160 range, Best bite was East with the waves. Got pretty bumpy out there later in the day. Probably our last trip of the year. Good luck to all and be safe out there.

    You know you are having a bad day when your truck dies at the launch and the friend you call for help tells you to hop back in the boat, cross the bay to the marina and tow him back to the launch! Despite the problems the fishing was fantastic and the number of strangers that offered help was amazing! One gentleman even offered up a truck! Got to love Fairhaven!

    On the way to check out a Model 2100. Noticed the 1998 weighed in at 2,500lbs and later years at 1,800lbs, any thoughts on this? The aft of this boat looks identical to my Islander 191V but the front is totally different, more rounded. Nice looking rig, any thoughts on this model? See you on the pond!

    I have GY Marathons on mine now, they were on it when I bought the boat 3 years ago, not sure how long the previous owner had them. . Seems like they held up well, tread is good but I noticed separation between the sidewalls and tread while doing the wheel bearings Saturday. First dealer my wife called today had Maxis so Maxis it is this time. Thanks for the feedback guys.

    Time for new tires. Any recommendations? Size on the trailer are ST 215/75R14. Read good reviews on Maxis, Kumho and Loadstar Kenda.

    What is the average down speed most troll at? I generally do fairly well with meat rigs and spoons at 2.1 on the Depth Raider but not so well with a flasher/fly. I'm thinking I need to bump my speed up. Any feedback greatly appreciated.

    I just patched mine up with clear nail polish and it worked fantastic for one day at least. Putting new cable on this week.
