Been looking for a tandem axle trailer for my 19 foot Islander . Want to be a little safer on the highway than a single axle. Why do most of the trailers I find online say no paperwork. Don’t really want to spend 6000 on a new trailer.

I don’t think a double axle would improve your road safety a lot. Moving some heavy equipment from the back of the boat to the front so there is more weight on the tongue will be very helpful. I haul my 19 foot Islander on a 19 foot trailer at 65 mph without any problems.

  2. The real reason for the cable is panther covering its "rearside" They do not want to be held liable for mishaps like the kicker falling of the bracket or the bracket breaking when traveling at high speed on a bumpy road, or the kicker falling off the  bracket while traveling at high speed on the water as in bass tournament racing. I'm not sure if it totally covers their rear. The idea of having a safety cable attached to boat and kicker is a good one, but it had better be a bit more robust than that funny little cable.

  3. I also have the panther with the safety cable, but It said to always have the cable attached to the kicker and the bracket when on the water. The manual also says to remove the kicker from the boat when trailering. If already you want to trailer with the kicker on the bracket, make sure the thing is tied down properly so the bumping and the banging does not damage the bracket or cause the kicker to bounce off.

You can still find a few chestnut trees sprouted up from old root systems. They usually grow until they are a few inches in diameter then die from blight. Sometimes they get bigger before they succumb. I am a professional Forester, and have the opportunity to find these. If the landowner lets me take these dying trees, I saw them up into lumber. There really is no market for them, not enough supply to create a demand.

That’s what I read in some articles. My curiosity was peaked because of articles About hybridized Japanese/American chestnut trees that show blight resistance and that are being planted in the Virginias and now you mentioning chestnut wood

In the 19-20 range as far as cuddy cabins there are some Sylvan Offshores out there few and far between.  Crestliner also made a small Eagle for several years, a walkaround cuddy.  Open bows, Sea Nymph 195 and its Grumman twin, then products from Starcraft, Sylvan, Smokercraft, Crestliner, Lund, Alumacraft etc.   As the boats get newer, asking price goes up.

The Islanders and Sylvans are the same boats from the same manufactorer under a different name.

  6. It really makes no sense to me in terms of protecting the species that the law allows the catching of fish while they take care of their spawn. Never mind the moral implications.

Lots of time the bass after having been caught and released are so traumatized that they abandon their nest. It seems that the law was adjusted in order to serve the commercial interest of the tackle business.

  7. At least on the east end it has been poor fishing to put it mildly.

One of the problems was the lack of green water. It caused the fish to spread out over a large area in order to feed themselves. Now with the fresh water coming out from the creeks and rivers there will be a lot scum lines and algea growth. It will produce food concentrations and the fish will start to concentrate around the food sources. It is my opinion that this rain will improve fishing very much ,but then again, it is just my opinion.

What type of drive and cooling system makes a difference.  Old i/o from salt- no.  Outboard maybe- you can repower.  IMO a freshwater boat is worth more than a saltwater boat most of the time.  There is a reason you don’t see old boats in Florida.

Most of the old boats migrate from Florida to south of Mexico where they have a lot of years as bread and butter boats for the village fishermen

  9. Evinrude and NGK plugs do NOT work well together. You should always use Champion plugs. I know it does not sound logical, but it just is that way.

You can use either QL77JC4 or L77JC4

  10. A few things to check:

do you have spark in every plug?

    Are you using fresh fuel?

is the fuel coming through properly?

     I don’t know if it’s a VRO or a regular pump but make sure it’s a 40:1 mix.

To me it sounds like a fuel delivery problem. I would give the carburetors a proper cleaning.
