Looking to take my 10 year old son on a pike trip late October or early November. He caught 5-6 pike bass fishing in Ohio this year and had a blast, nothing over 5lbs for him. Looking to get a bigger one for him.
What would be better late October or early November?Im thinking Pike should be back in the shallows?
best lures? Colors?Any help would be great

Are you putting the half hitch in the loop? You have to have a couple of twist in the line.
I’ve done this a couple thousand times running big boards, it works 100% of the time.

Take 2 fingers and create a loop in the braid and then half hitch the rubber band. The braid will tighten around the rubber band and can not slip.

Add weight to your boards to get them riding low..
They will pull a lot harder
You can even add a kick out plate and really make them pull

Pick up some 500# braid from amishoutfiiters.com, stuff is pretty cheap and lasts for ever.
You won't bust off boards any more.
