13 of the top 20 salmon out of the west end!
-
2 hour battle, that's crazy, how many times were you on the rod?

Is there a measurement that is close for big salmon, my scale jumps all over on the water. In the past 37” are usually around 22-23lb salmon. Too small for derby entry. What would a 27-30lb average length be?

thank you Rich, so you still use in-lines for the junk lines. I was thinking of using my mast and double big boards with a release on the tow line.
I have the TX44 but if it's a little rough or too far out they can dive sometimes

Running coppers 300, 400, 500 which do you prefer, if big boards what release is best

Use it correctly and they survive. I stop it 10’ above the release depth for a few minutes then take it down to release

Most importantly is this takes them back into colder water, if you’re truly trying to save them this is the way to go

slow for sure, my last 2 trips out, 2 fish each time.

that's awful close to the release line, I would think tangle city, unless both lines were the same set back and same lure so they dropped exactly the same speed. Maybe if the ball line was a diver lure to pull it down faster it would work, good luck, report back on it

I see. My dual outboard boat had the connection in front of the motors and it worked really nice. 200 yamaha 15 hp honda. Everything was above the cables so no interference and I could easily disconnect the main, trim up the kicker and lock it in place to a third ball fitting located in the splashwell for running.
Good luck with your decision.
I have the same setup 115 to 8hp, 27years not one concern

Brand new 30-50-70' release to revive your fish, $45 to your door
The SeaQualizer descending device is an innovative release tool designed to help fish recover from the effects of barotrauma. Barotrauma is the result of bringing a fish up from depth to quickly while fishing. Doing this prevents the fish from releasing air from its air bladder quick enough as pressure on it is decreased as it reaches the surface. This causes the air bladder to expand beyond its normal size.
Physical effects of barotrauma can include:Floating at the surface
Stomachs protruding out of the fish’s mouth
Bulging eyes
Flared gills
Inflated body cavities

you may need to make 3 loops around your 2 fingers with the braid then hitch the band through the loops. that should hold.
