  2. I have just purchased a new Humminbird fish finder and have decided to mount the transducer to a mounting board on the transom inorder not to have to put screws directly into the transom. Does anyone have any recomendations as to how to mount the board to the transom. Should I use adhesive only, and what type? Should I use stainless steel screws? Where can I get a good mounting board? Any recomendations would be appreciated. Thank you.

  3. I have just purchased a Hummingbird Model 788ci HD DI and want to mount it on my Welcraft Coastal 210. Does nyone have any suggestions as to how to mount the transducer to the transome of the boat, (I was thinking of using a mounting plate on the transome and then attach the transducer to the plate ), and how to snake the tranducer cable to the dash of the boat. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

  4. I am planning on purchasing a new fish finder and GPS for my boat. Are there any advantages to purchasing a fish finder/ GPS combo to seperate units? If so what are they? Which way would you go and why? Also, what make would you recommend? My price range is between $400.00 to $900.00. Thanks

    Location:Pepperell, Massachusetts

    Home Port:Newburyport, Massachusetts

    Boat Name: n/a /Type: 1989 Wellcraft Coastal 210 w/350 Mercruiser

    I fish for:

Blue fish, stripers, and just about anything else that happens along!!

Your wondering what a guy from the land of Taxachusetts and a salt water fisherman to boot is doing signed up on a site like this. Well one day I was cruising the internet looking for a good used boat and I happened along this site. After checking out the site for a while I decided to join. Although I have never fished the Lake before (someday I will ), I find this site a great resource and wish us salt water anglers had a place like this to go to. It's great to be able to go to a site and be able to get all this information and to "talk" to people who share the same sport as you do. Sure wish we had a site like this on the east coast. Maybe it's time to start one! Well gotta go.

  6. I want to thank you guys for responding so quickly and giving me the information that I needed to make a decision. I'm going with the 22'. Not only will it have more space in the cockpit, but something I didn't think of, it will ride in the water easier and be able to take the rough water better. Thanks for all of your help.

    Regards,

    John
