  1. Thank you all for the information.  I've been sick in bed with the flu all week...just getting around to responding.  'Old Man',  that's a generous offer, I may take you up on that.  I live in Macedon.  Not sure if getting out to Bass Pro Shops is in my cards this weekend.  Need to get healthy for first ice!!!

  2. Boy, I'd be tempted to go a bit further south to Hammond Lake for crappie.  About 6 years ago the DEC dropped a boat load (no pun intended) of those wooden slat cube fish structures throughout the lake.  We were camping there at the time and saw them deploying them.  If one could find one of those clusters with crappie hanging out on them...

  3. It's not all it's quacked up to be. Sorry, couldn't resist. Never fished. I often wonder about some of these smaller bodies of water. Year's ago my father and I used too fish this pond near a gypsum mind in Oakfield. It was a gold mine. Then folks ruined it... got posted.

  4. Year's ago my dad and I used frozen smelt right from the supermarket for northerns. They outfished live bait. Wonder what the ruling would be on that.

  5. Nice sled. It is fun building ice fishin stuff. When i was younger my father and i build many different types of ice fishing sleds. Made the first one out of my old wooden toy box. We even built a collapsible shanty which i still have.

I miss the Red Green show. I'll have to Google that as see when it is on. - Yes to the duct tape. I have my 8 year old primed with that for a fix for everything.

  6. I was out on the same spot the day before. Took my 8 and 11 year old out for the first time (along with the wife who boasts about always out-fishing me). cought nothing but did have one hit on a bass minnow on a tip-up. Hope to get out there again soon.
