  1. Would you be interested in parting with the rod holders seperately?
  2. Hey GT, Thanks for the heads up. I'm aware of the name floating around Lake O, but I figured it'd be safe to use it seeing as how I fish the west end of Lake Erie. Cheers, Austin. [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
  3. beautiful place. Nice pig! [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
  4. Just finished up the final details on the design of the new boat name. I'm gonna send it in sometime this week to get redone professionally and printed. I'm extremely happy with the way it turned out.
  5. Just finished the design on the name! Gonna send it in to get 'vinyl-ized' sometime this week.
  6. It'd be really cool if we were able to purchase a boat decal. What a better way to support the site than to show it on the water. You'd probably even turn a few guys onto the site that way. Just an idea. Cheers, Austin.
  7. Hey everyone, Looking for a pair of multi-set dual mounted rod holders (Big Jon pedestal mount preferably). It's kind of a specific request, but if anyone has something similar for sale I may be interested. Thanks, Austin.
  8. I found it a little suspicious too. Although, the engine is a 2005.. which would lead me to believe the 3 year factory warranty has expired. But, if I buy it, wouldn't I be able to get warranty?
  9. Hey everyone, Just wondering what your thoughts on the Evinrude E-Tec outboard engines are. My old Johnson 140 is past due and there is a relatively cheap E-Tec for sale at one of my local marine suppliers. The problem is, the factory warranty is non existent because the engine was a showroom model. The model is fully working, but it's an engine that is towed around from boat show to boat show to showcase the Evinrude E-Tecs. I'm not sure if I want to take a chance on a brand new engine that has no warranty on it. I'd like a bigger engine but I can't justify paying more for a brand new four stroke (or even two stroke) than what I payed for the boat. Does anyone here run these engines? Any major issues or problems you've run into? I like the idea of HO and EFI. Thanks, Austin.
  10. You're quite welcome chance! The canvas was the best investment I've ever made in that boat. It's strong, sturdy and looks good too! Even if I had the choice, I wouldn't change a single thing about it. Austin.
  11. Thanks LB! I figured it'd be a good idea to drain the tank. When I bought the boat from a dealer they did an inspection and removed the oil injector from the engine, so I'm forced to manually mix the oil and fuel together. But, when they removed the oil injector there was still a large quantity of fuel in the boat in which they just dumped a whole lot of oil into, without measuring.. which they wouldn't have been able to anyhow, because the float is incorrect. The engine runs smokey (even for a two stroke!) and the tank is almost full, so I may be forced to just burn it off. The mixture seems to be way too rich.
  12. Finally got a gorgeous day to get out to the boat and take a closer look after de-winterizing it almost two weeks ago. The rig needs some work before it's ready to go in the water, we'll have to find some time to do that yet. List of things to do include: - Install new Garmin GPSmap 530 and install thru-hull transducers. - Install new Uniden Solara VHF and additional antenna or splitter (haven't decided yet) - Install new fishfinders. - Remove panel and repaint, replace switches and relabel. - Install new Big Jon Dual Multi-Set rod holders. - Drain gas tank and readjust gauge float. - Replace wiper motor and arm. - Repaint bottom. - Strip the striping and reapply new vinyl decals. - Hopefully get a new name designed and get that applied as well.. I'm thinking either Riggermortis or I've got some other ones cooked up. Enough on that.. Happily awaiting launch day.. quite a bit of a work ahead it looks. Austin.
  13. Excellent! Thanks for the information. I just placed my order for the 27LCW reels and 9' 6" rods, can't wait to get them!
  14. I just picked up the Uniden Solara DSC radio for $89 bucks at Bass Pro. The radio has lots of neat features at a cheap price. As earlier mentioned, brand doesn't really matter when it comes to VHF.. it's all in the antenna. I use the Shakespeare Galaxy series also.
  15. Hey all, I'm setting up my planer board system I bought this winter and I still need to purchase four rods and reels to run off of it. I've got an oversupply of Bass Pro gift cards and I can basically purchase 4 combo's without paying any real cash. They have one combo that looks enticing (http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/store ... escription) What are your opinions on the Daiwa Accudepth series? Worth the bucks or should I look at something else? Also, what length rod is best for planer boards? Thanks, AW.
  16. Hey all, I'm interested to know if there is such a thing. I just bought a second VHF radio and am wondering if it's possible to run two radios (and still be able to transmit on both) off one antenna. It would be handy if I could, because I need to access the front of the boat often and a second antenna would just clutter things up. Thanks for your help, Austin.
  17. I own a pair of Mag 10's and haven't gone wrong with them yet. I utilize the extendable boom quite often and the booms are very durable and heavy duty. [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
  18. Hey all, I'm about to pop out the dash in the boat and refinish the plate. I'm just wondering if anyone knows if that little yellow & white Coast Guard sticker that lists maximum horsepower, load, manufacturer and model is mandatory? And if so, does it have to be on the dash, or can it be placed elsewhere? I'd like to remove it completely as it takes up valuable space on the dash, but if it must stay I guess I'll have to find a new place for it. Thanks, Austin
  19. Ice is gone for me on the north shore. However it looks pretty dirty yet, not sure if it's worth trying to get out. [ Post made via Mobile Device ]

  21. I may look into these. Has anybody had any experience with using these as rocket launcher type rod holders? I'm fabricating an arch for my boat, are these sturdy enough for that use?
