lite bite requires a tight release, make sure the line is not sliding down the release when you reel down to it, a good several twist will do, otherwise they pull the line thru the release open mouth and gone as soon as the rod goes off. 

why are you getting rid of the reels if you need reels. Are they in good order? I'm interested

3 kings this morning got out late but good to know the boat parking lot did not spook them away. picked them up 50/70 Last one was a good one ! North of 15# is my guess.
