  1. Nick,

I have a Quick Drain electric pump and it would not move the oil cold, i ran the engine for a few minutes to warm it up and it pumped the oil out but took about 15 min. If you have not purchased one you are more than welcome to try mine just let me know.

  2. I have a 22.5 foot Searay with a 350 EFI and i burn about 1 gph, one problem i have is if there is no wind or if i am trolling with the wind i have to use at least one bag. A kicker on your platform is an option to consider that is what I am doing. The other perk you need to look at is the extra room you will have for guests and gear with a bigger boat, plus a better ride in poor conditions. Either way you look at it you will definately save fuel compared to what you have now. Just my 2 cents.....good luck...

  3. Thanks for all the input guys, I would like to think maybe things have been replaced in the past and maybe there isn't that many hours on the engines and drives but I don't need a project boat right now either. Unfortunetly I cant tell the wear on the outdrives by looking at them. It doesn't sound like the guy has had the boat that long and who knows what previous owners have done to it. I have not heard back from him for almost a week now so I am still looking for a boat. I really like the layout of the amberjack's but there isn't a lot of them for sale. I currently have a wellcraft V20 which i like but I want a weekender cabin, so the search continues........

    Thanks again guys!!!

  4. Hello,

I am looking for a boat in the 22' to 26' range, that has room to fish but also the ability to spend weekends on. My wife and I are looking to slip up in the lake Ontario community during the summer and fish. I have seen a ton of boats for sale and either they are all cruiser or all fishing. I am looking around the $5000.00 dollar range but maybe more for the right boat. A trailer is a must. If anyone comes across something I would love to hear about it..

    Thanks,

    Jamie

  5. Hello,

I am looking at a couple of boats and I was wondering how many hours an engine is capable of running. I have found 2 Sea Ray Amberjacks that I really like but the better one has twin 305 Mercruisers which the starboard engine has over 3000 hours and the port engine has around 2000. This seems really high to me but the owner says they run great. I will absolutely do a compression test before I considered buying it but I was just looking for some input.

    Thanks...

Sorry, I didn't comment on fleas. The only flea problem we had was on the 30lb wire. I have 50lb power pro on one dipsy and 30lb big game on my riggers and they did not seem to collect fleas.

    SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS

This was my first trip to the "big pond". Only caught 2 fish but I am fairly new to trolling and I have a lot to learn. We went straight out to 350-400 fow and trolled back towards shore changing direction, speeds and tackle. Finally hit a 21" steelie in 250 fow on a rigger down 100 on a cheater spoon (nbk). Then a little while longer hit a 28" steelie on same rigger and cheater. We kept trolling that area and didn't hit anything else. We started with every combo of flasher and fly and the only thing that worked was that spoon. We kept at least 1 flasher and fly out at all times but changed mainly to spoons after that. I guess I need to buy more spoons cause I don't have many. Anyway it was still alot of fun and I will be back soon hopefully with a bigger arsenal...Btw this is a great site and I am learning a lot from all.. Thanks...
