I bought MC Rockets for the first time 2 years ago and put one down.  Within 10 minutes I had a king but.....that was the last king I caught on one.  For several weeks I put down both meat and rockets at the same time and the Rockets never fired again while the meat did.  I like that they are very tunable, but they just don't work that well for me.

My buddy decided to get creative and threw a Bay Rat on the rigger. They loved it. Keeping the second treble out of the net was another story.

Those lakers make me believe (for a couple of weeks) that I actually know what I'm doing! Lots of fun to offset the hours between fish that's in store for us. Great pics. Nice job!

Lakers were 12-17 lbs and got two Chinook in shallow that were around 3 lbs

Very nice fish. Pulling any from gin clear water is a real challenge.

How much to replace the Pump?

Depends if it's under warranty or not. If not, about $500. Barter with them and they may charge 1/2 that if you return the old pump to them.

My unit the Fluid keeps getting low! Not sure where im loosing it! Does anyone have problems with the cylinders leaking?

Mine was actually losing fluid from the pump. It's either that or your lines. I replaced the pump and it works fine.

For a free slider drop your main line to the desired depth and then connect the slider line swivel to the main line and throw the spoon to the side of the main line to avoid tangles. It will fall to around 30% of the depth of the main line.

I tend to disagree with the 30%. Based on sonar capturing the lure, I'd say it's at least 50%. When you consider the blowback on the ball and the mainline curvature going to the release, I'd say it often beyond 50% till the slider gets to the belly of the line. My two cents.

I just found out Pat was just a few boats down from me at the marina. I can't say I had ever met him, but if he's the guy I'm thinking about, he was much too young. Goes to show that we need to enjoy our time on the lake because you never know when it will be your last. RIP Pat.

I bought a ton of them in different colors because I got them for $1 each. They work well for lakers and I've done very well on Lake O steelies with them. Of course, the color makes a big difference.

For example...... I run the he'll out of wonderbread.... It goes out every trip after the June transition... Guys down west tell me that wonderbread rots.

Yes half hitch around wire close to reel and hook over handle. Doesn't take much to break but keeps from creeping.

Interesting topic because I always have the drags on the wire diver set loose.  Just enough drag that it didn't creep out.  At the Salmon School this past January, both captains said snug down those drags on your wire divers so you don't get those small rips and then they're gone. You know what I'm talking about.

I think Bobby makes lots of subtle variations in his spoons. I had a couple that killed and can't find them on his site now. Sadly the last of them are in a fishes jaw, so no picture.

Never let a wire reel free spool, not even a little bit. It will start uncoiling and create a nightmare. It's best to always leave the clicker on. Always keep at least a little tension on the line. If you get a kink, cut it out immediately. Don't even try to straighten it. Kinks will break like a piece of thread. Curly Qs in the line are ok, just not kinks.

A buddy of mine found the same thing in a laker in central PA. I think it was 7 or 9. This can't be good and you would think they would be bio-degradable.

A lot of people claim that 30lb mono will suffice. That has not been my experience. Maybe upping to 40lb would do the trick??? Even Sea Flea isn't as effective as the Cortland Flea Flicker used to be. I guess going with heavier mono is the only option.

I was out of Wilson on Sunday.  Water was cold (39-40) and the mudline ran out to 30' FOW.  Practically no visibility.  Still good that you picked a few and it will only get better.  Tight Lines!

Had guys from Michigan here on the west end last spring that ran boards WAY out to the side and didn't even have a line on them. Grand central station and they claimed 200 yards for themselves.

Hit the water about 8:00 and fished the 10-15' range both east and west of the chute. Picked up 5 Browns by noon and missed a few. Water was cold - 39.1 to 40.8 degrees. J-11 fire tiger and my wife's favorite lure, a rebel crab were the trick. Not a lot of fish, but great to be out again.
