  1. I didn't know Carol played Golf! Go figure!!! Sounds like you'ld better go back to anchor, threaded sawbellies, and slip sinkers!!!! Pwr is back on here. Gotta go pluck some Y bones out of 3 Pickeral. I see Stanley Steamer still has that 3 mile smile!!!
  2. Ray, We gave you way to much to work with in the ball busting dept. but that's par for the coarse for me. Still was a good time. I just had my 1st meal of striper and it is hands down the best fish that I've caught, that I ever had. Baked it butter salt pepper lemon. It stayed firm like lobster and I ate it as such with melted butter. WOW!!! Again thanks for everything and next time I'll bring you premade coffee so we can do a little more fishing and a little less camping on the boat.
  3. WTG Those are some dandys! What is your strategy for targeting large fish verses smaller ones?
  4. Steve and I were fortunate to have Ray K. take us to the Hudson for our 1st time and we had a blast. Weather conditions were tough do to the wind and thebite was slower than on Rays last trip but we still managed to catch quite a few fish and even let a few bigger ones go that later we wished we had kept. I let a 30 in go in the 1st 3 hrs of fishing. What I liked most was catching these drag screamers while adrift rather than fighting fish up the back of the boat while trolling. Thanks Ray for showing us the ropes.
  5. I YIE YIE YIE YIE. SORRY TO HERE THAT Cous. Good luck . Do you use the plugs with the "T" handle in the middle or the flip kind? I don't trust the flip kind and you can usually crank the "T" handle type down hard. Get er fixxed and get out there!!
  6. Though we are going to be new to striper fishing it appears you must register even though you don't have to purchase a marine lic. Roadhog and I enrolled in the Free Recreational Marine Fishing Registry Per this Link: http://www.dec.ny.gov/permits/6091.html The way we read it, if your targeting migrant fish above the Tappen Zee Bridge you must register. They provide you with a temp copy you can print when you do it on line. Check it out unless you are allready aware of it. Also it states you don't even need a NYS fishing Lic to fish for Migrants all you need to do is register and you"re golden!
  7. WTG and thanks for the tip/report. What was the water clarity like?
  8. Sure hope that window opens up!!! Roadhog and I are stoked! Will check out the crawler situation tonight!!
  9. I sure hope the Rhys Davis strips come back. I have many heads tied to 40lb seaquar leaders waiting to run but up till now have been disapointed with the few other cut baits I used. They fell apart quickly so I converted to Flys and have done well with them but on days when things aren't working it would be nice to throw some meat at them! If anyone hears of them selling it from Sodus to Sandy Pond please post. Thanks
  10. Great effort Koot. One of these days they will all be biting and you'll come back spent from fighting them all. Thanks for the report!
  11. Thanks for the report. If you want to be in THE CLICK you can't be leaving out GPS Cords! I would have replyed but you didn't include your down speed! Gotta have down speed! Like someone said posts are enjoyed by many replyed by few. Again thanks for the report.
  12. Thanks for the feedback fellas. The Launch was great. When looking at the water level, the whole lake looks to be up 2-3ft as gauged by the walk over bridge on Sterling inlet. Rain has been raising havic at most of the drag strips. Will do a shake down in a few weeks after they get some rubber laid down.
  13. Thanks L&M for the spoon ID. Cuz- The line I was using was stren flouro cast 8lb. It said all flouro not just flouro coated. It was not leader material though. It broke on the knot area. As if the knot strength capability is poor??????? I think I'll follow FairHavenfisherman and bump up to 12 and some P line. I used P line once and liked it
